Kettlebells are expensive. This is a simple cheap build and it works.
Amazon cable works out to about $2.50 a foot but you got to buy 50 foot
your local farm store of construction build store should have something that will work. the other this is a heavy bike cable lock

How comfortable are these for cleans and snatches?

They are a little fat so it’ll hit your forearm. But I definitely do them with even it hitting my forearm it’s not that bad it’s slow at the top it just bumps in a little bit. If you use a thinner jug and then added some lead weights it would probably work better
