    Do you like rainbow toned Canadian Silver Dollars? I got a maple leaf and a 1972 Voyager. The 72 is absolutely beautiful

      Hey moon boy. I do love a colourful toner. Not sure exactly what they mixed in the 1972 50% silver dollar but if you look them up online... like 80% or more of them are toned. ;) Happy Stackin eh!

      Hey Charles Yes correct each of these come from a fractional maple set for the years that includes 1oz $5 coin, $4 1/2 oz maple, $3 1/4oz, $2 1/10th oz, $1 1/20th oz Silver dollar maple. They don't come out every year only certain years. Hope this helps. Happy Stackin eh!

    what's it like trying to sell silver coins in Canada? ... aka where?

    • @canadiansilverseeker
      @canadiansilverseeker  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey buddy TY for the question. I'll be honest I have defiantly bought more than I have sold. Selling in Canada in my limited experience is ok. Its like anything else you have to do your research into who buys what in your local area and what they pay on the regular. Were I live there is a coin shop and a Bullion place I can take stuff to if need be locally. There are also other options like gold smith's, jewellery places can be asked. You can always use online bullion places (like SGB) as well. They will typically allow you to mail them items you want to sell. Banks in Canada for some part (TD maybe others) will allow you to bring in bullion as well. The other options you have available are online auction places, & places like Facebook market place, Kijiji, & TH-cam. I will warn you though if you sell on places like Facebook market place. Please consider your safety. Not only should you be aware of the transaction but you should IMO never meet people at your house if you have silver listed. Being to trusting can paint a target on your house inadvertently. Another thing to consider when selling in Canada is the type of silver you have. Pure silver .999 or .9999 fine when you buy in Canada you pay a premium but no tax (for the most part). When you sell that silver back to a place like a bullion store or LCS they will require to take down your personal info so they can report the purchase to the Gov. You then are supposed to report any capital gains on your taxes so that the Gov can tax you! Junk silver is different. When you buy junk silver you pay for the most part a very small premium... but you pay taxes on it since its not pure. When you sell that back to a LCS. You can sell 1k lots randomly with out the LCS having to report the sales to the Gov. So if you sell in parts rather than in a huge lot you can theoretically avoid reporting any gains on your taxes. Please remember I am no financial advisor... just some guy who likes shiny! So take my advice with a grain of salt. Hope this helps friend. Happy Stackin eh!

    Anyone have a clue where I can find these ?

    • @canadiansilverseeker
      @canadiansilverseeker  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Indio. Each of these 16mm Silver Dollars come from fractional maple sets originally released by the royal Canadian mint. Check out the mint.ca new releases to see the newest 2025 edition that just came out the other day. Some of the original sets in 2003 and 2004 are fairly high mintage's of like 28k and 13k... but the newer sets have around 3k mintage's depending on the years they do vary. Years that the fractional maple set was made with a $1 denomination include 2003, 2004, 2013-2016, 2019-2025. I have found the most of mine broken out of sets from my LCS or ebay. Hope this helps friend. Let me know if you need any further info. Happy Stackin eh!
