NCAA FBS RULE 9-3-2B: a teammate can not grasp,pull or lift a ball carrier to assist in forward progress. The ASU O-lineman LIFTED Skattebo up in the air and carried him over the goal line. it was the most egregious violation of that rule i’ve ever seen. Why was that ASU touchdown not called back? And why are the ASU fans and so many others OBSESSED over that taaffe non-targeting call in light of their clear, non-controversial violation of Rule 9-3-2B rule that got them a td that should’ve been called back?
Not to mention, the targeting non-call on the pick and the hit on Bond. There are five criteria for targeting, and that play included two of the five. The defender clearly launched and the hit was in the head/neck area. And let's talk about the blatant cheating by ASU calling out signals to cause the four false starts in the fourth quarter. ASU put forth a huge effort but I feel it was tarnished.
Best Analysis I’ve seen so far on game.. let’s be honest, it was terrible coaching and execution dealing with ASU play schemes. That’s on Sark, that’s on Flood, that’s on ST Banks coaching. The athletes are there. Definitely have the athletes. But the coaching sucks now. Barely competent imo. Very average. Why? I’d like someone to actually challenge these coaches on their approach.. instead it’s BS butt kissing type softball Qs at press conference etc
The thing that bothers me about the fake plays deal is that Texas should have known ASU was going to do that. I mean it was obvious to the most casual observer that ASU was going to pull out all the stops to get the win. Win or go home. They were willing to do what ever it took to win. Ant Hill looks lost to me. He looked that way in the Clemson game too. In the ASU game the QB ran right by him on a qb run and he never had a chance to get him, like he just doesn't move side to side very quickly. What was the reason for Texas not playing David Gbenda? I know it's something he doesn't read well or do well but that guy hits a ton. Sark, quit talking to the field goal kicker. Never talk to the guy. YOUR NOT HELPING HIM. Burt has a hard time with pressure. He can't handle it. He's a good kicker but its a self confidence thing and hes bad under pressure. Leave him alone though.
Controversial? There was nothing controversial that I saw. Texas failed to execute at the end of the 4th and then was unsyoppable in OT. HookEm! Final Four Baby!!
@@Peter.Young21 Couldn’t agree more. Quinn turned it up a notch in OT when we needed it most. He drives me nuts with his inconsistency but can’t complain when he balls out when it matters most. Yeah so many butt hurt, salty, whiny ASU fans. They have a great time and gave UT hell. They’ll be back next year in the playoffs. Our defense finished off the game with the INT. We gotta figure out how the hell we’ll stay above water against OSU. They slaughtered Oregon. Hope we have a better game plan for OSU than we did in this game. Hookem baby! Final Four!
There was no targeting Taff already committed on the tackle before the receiver turned and smashed into Taff's face mask, it should be targeting on the receiver.
Ewers and Sark finally remembered to get the ball to Helm. If Texas lets Ohio State offense keep the ball like that, in the Cotton Bowl, Texas will lose.

The better team lost to better overall talent. We got lucky on the missed targeting. Probably would have lost in regulation. Hard not to expect that we’re going home after next week.
