I love The Living Daylights score. The last of the classic Bond scores.
Great review! I was very pleased with the LLL release of both Octopussy & LALD. With this being both the 60th Ann of Goldfinger & 50th Ann of MWGG, I'm hoping LLL will release 2 cd expanded editions of both Barry scores later this year or early 2025. Hopefully they'll be able to do the rest of the Bond scores. I have also enjoyed the LLL releases of David Arnold's TND, TWINE & DAD.
Thoughtful and thorough, as usual. Thank you! I'm looking forward to spending more time with my copies, and hoping we'll see more expanded Barry Bond in the future! Best, Jason (Spy Vibe)
Thank you!! Hopefully we see Goldfinger soon if the teaser post is what it looks like.
I have a lot of the original bond scores but this is a one I don’t have and I instantly ordered it ! John Barry is great and I look for any of his scores !!! And I was not aware of lalaland but I will be keeping an eye out for there other releases!!!
Great review! LLL did another amazing job (again) with this release, which really showcases John Barry at his mature best. I'm hearing rumours that a 60th Anniversary (expanded?) release of Goldfinger may be announced shortly. This could mean that the original score tracks have been located, which is exciting if true.
Their latest teaser certainly has us all hoping for Goldfinger!
@@DamnFoolIdealisticCrusader Well it's been confirmed today that we will be.
Watching you're review gets me pumped up and hyped for more classic Bond scores. I'm thinking the next I would want to have is A View to a kill with the awesome Duran Duran title song. It's very possible we'll get something, do to the success of these releases. 🤞
If the teaser post is an indication it's likely that Goldfinger is next.
I want: The spy Who loved me, Moonraker, a view to a kill, the man with the Golden gun and For your eyes only, complete Edition. Is there hope? Especially for The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker which are the most requested soundtracks by us 007 fans ❤
La La Land is my favorite label of all time
Do you plan to review The Sugarland Express finally getting a soundtrack (not to mention the UHD)?
La La Land is great. I've been concentrating on their amazing releases from the Universal vault, which recently included astounding versions of Hitchcock's TORN CURTAIN and TOPAZ, the amazing Quincy Jones score for BANNING and Henry Mancini's MOMENT BY MOMENT. I'm delighted that they've been doing these great 2-disc versions of the Bond scores as well. I'm on their mailing list so I don't miss out on any of their fantastic releases.
They do such incredible work. I only wish I had a bigger wallet to afford more!
If only someone would do this for Dr No, From Russia with Love and Goldfinger.
La La Land Records just announced a Goldfinger 60th anniversary remaster that starts shipping October 11th!
Still hoping we'll get a review of the recent 4K UHD of Bringing Out the Dead. But I am still wary about the release, notably the encode.
@@movietv20249 I really want to cover that one but am very leery about it being Paramount and the UHD only containing an Atmos remix. Unfortunately, my limited budget not to mention time factors in and I never get to cover every release I’d like to. But it’s definitely on my list of ones I’d like to cover.
The encode, from what I've seen in caps, is not amazing, but very far from terrible. It's competent enough, which is never something one can take for granted in Paramount's releases.
33:57 It's a shiny ruby edge, for the 40th anniversary. :)
@@NeilBulk wow, that makes perfect sense!! It didn’t even occur to me!
Perhaps even a bit like the Romanov Star…
I want LaLaLand to remaster all the classic Bond album scores. 🙏
I wish that somehow they’d get the rights to put them on streaming too but that won’t happen
