As a delivery driver me personally I find it extremely kind when people tip, do I expect it? No. Do I get mad if I don’t get one ? No. It is a kind gesture that is optional and the right drivers will appreciate it every time
Nah if you're too broke to add a tip, you shouldn't be ordering Doordash, dominoes, eating out etc. No excuse for not adding a tip. Edit: the food is most commonly cheaper in America than in european countries and you get more of it. A lot of you didn't know this.
Here’s my issue with the tipping system. It’s been turned from an optional showing of gratitude to something that’s EXPECTED now to the point it’s a cultural thing, you’ll be belittled and called broke if you don’t tip. Instead of companies paying their employees reasonable wages, they force them to get money from tips and therefore, makes them come to expect it.
Percentage tipping is stupid though. You can go get breakfast for 10 bucks and have her refill your coffee 6 times, vs going to a steakhouse and paying 90 bucks. The second person doesn’t deserve 9x the tip because they didn’t work 9x harder.
I think the main problem with tipping is that your expected to tip based on how much you spent. It should be tipping on service not price of ur food. If i ordered a sparkling water and it was like 1 thousand i shouldnt have to tip 20% and give the guy $200 for bringing that water
What I hate is when they add in a tip just to get extra cash from you. I like ordering food online and picking it up myself and so many places in my town will try to hide the fact they force add a tip that you have to opt out of. I understand if they bring it to me but if they just throw it together and I go in to pick it up I’m not tipping.
I never once expect anyone to tip at all. I have been threatened to be assaulted if I begged for tips, and all I did was ask if they wanted their receipt. And the entire time, I apologized for asking questions because my job requires a lot of questions because we know how fucking picky everyone is food-wise and normally people demand I stop asking questions like if they want protein or if they want a type of cheese or the size of the bowl. And we don't do the tip jar, it causes fghts which have caused hospitalizations before.
The most annoying thing is buissneses who do shared tips. Why should I split the money that I worked harder to make with the people who did nothing to help.
This scares me away from going on vacation to the US. I’m not spending 100 on a meal and then being pressured into giving extra money. Where I’m from people appreciate a tip once in a while, they don’t expect it tho.
After coming home from my trip from Asia where tipping is not mandatory. Now back in the US where the expected tip has risen from 15% to 18% for almost everything, I can say tipping culture is stupid and I use to work for starbucks and as a server for a restaurant.
First, I want to say thanks to Joe for defending servers because it’s not easy especially for catering companies I work 10+ hours most shifts and I’m only 17 years old and get paid 15 an hour. I only worked two days and my checks only about 250. So getting an extra $20 tip is greatly appreciated when we are catering to them however long the party is as each parties are 6+ hours.
And to top it all off when the person is trying to buy the room for their party when they sign, the contract it says servers get paid this amount when you pay but it’s false… we don’t get anything from them.
I was just working in a restaurant until about a month ago and if we didn’t get tipped we left with nothing, we got payed $2.50 an hour and it was all taken for taxes so what we made in tips was all we made. I agree if you can’t afford it don’t go out to eat, I saw another sever have a family who didn’t order anything for their kids..she said she knew they weren’t gonna tip, she felt bad for the kids and got the manager to give her 2 gift cards for the kids so they could eat..they didn’t tip her, those people had no business going out to eat if they weren’t going to get their kids anything and eat in front of them. A lot of people think it’s not their job to tip, but a couple people not leaving a tip isn’t going to make a ceo of chain restaurant start paying their workers better..and as far as people choosing to stay at a job like that, some people have to take what they can get.

My job, and yes I work a fast restaurant job, don't do tips other than what people go out of their way to do for the selection part, and I have seen a guy get cut open and almost bleed out over a tip jar incident so none of that is around. We prioritize the surveys cause we desperately need the feedback, only doing a reward like a free dessert is apparently cheating and not the only way they will even take a survey. I've tried multiple methods, it sucks.
L take, blud is not considering that tipping is supposed to be a nice/kind gesture not a compulsory charge. people expect to get charged the amount on the menu and me personally i would be mad if i were to try to pay with the amount i order and i see a 20% tip automatically added because then i no longer have enough to pay
In England we tip if the service is good and it is not expected unless at a restaurant and normally it's just when you leave for example just leave £5 on the table when you leave or about $6.23
4:20 100% im a waitress and like 3 days ago i had a table of 8 (not counting the kids) got their order to them in under 15 minutes + drinks + napkins + babyseats ect ect without them ever having to ask about or for anything, they ordered i'd say like $350 worth of food and drinks and they stayed there after eating for about an extra hour (in my job you have a section and if one person is taking up that table then you have less customers aka less tips for the day) and after they all left, i bagged their stuff ect ect (we're not required to do that for them but i always like helping out when i see they have kids because I see my mom and know its hard) and they left 0 tip lmao I wasn't mad but i thought "oh wow, dickheads" EDIT: when people order drink after drink in a restaurant with a bar you owe a percentage of your tip to the bar aka because of people like that you actually end up LOSING YOUR PERSONAL MONEY
@@yasminlayloni9111 well to be fair it sounded like you only act nice cause you expect a tip not because you want to be nice, thats the key here! be nice with the customers because you genuine not because you expect a tip and suddenly by being genuine your odds of receiving a tip increases, idk how to explain this but people can notice if someone is being waaaay too nice to you cause gives off this vibe of hmm this is weird this person being way too nice as if she/he wanting something you know? for example if that family wouldve asked you nicely like: hey can you pack the leftover food for us please and then you do it, the odds of them tipping you is way higher vs you just doing it by your own decision of something they didnt ask you for, unless you mean something else by "bagged their stuff", but also keep in mind some people just wont ever tip you no matter what you do as nobody is forced to do so
@@zekrom6537 No, being nice is a part of the job and basic human decency, but a lot of the people who go to restaurants (that ive dealt with personally) really have you busting your ass for up to 4 hours even though theyre not ordering anything aka just watching the tv aka less seats aka other customers are pissed off bc they have to stand there aka when they get seated they end up getting an attitude with us and thats when a lot of servers end up having to really bust their asses to satisfy this already pissed customer or sometimes they'll order something like "plain shrimp" then get pissed because there is no sauce on top, like yesterday my coworker had to run around behind someone elses 4 year old. Tips are expected because of the large MAJORITY of people who make a hard job even harder. It sucks but thats why tips at least where i live are expected for good service EDIT: apart from that we owe a percentage of our tips to the bar, and the host/hostess as well so if we dont get tips we have to pay out of OUR pockets thats another reason theyre expected
There’s this Chinese buffet place called Royal where I live and the waiters will literally not let you leave until you tip and the like two times I’ve been there I’ve tipped like a penny because WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO EARN A TIP IM LITERALLY SERVING MYSELF

18:06 squidward scared the shit outta me
i dont even know how the hell i was able to process that
Joe makes my day bro ngl
Joel never fails, never felt
joe you legend, never forgets to entertain us
Once me and my friends were at a restaurant and while we were figuring out the tip and who was giving what, the waitress was like “your gunna tip right”. Then we didn’t want to but our waiter was different before so we did
That's just the waitress being naggy. Like honestly you do not demand tips, it's a graceful gesture to tip, not a right.
@@anglepsycho every company demands tips it's mandatory now to seem like a dick idk why it used to be just a kind gesture but people like Joe are making it a big deal saying if you can't tip don't go out like I'm going out to feed another person. I don't care what dead end waiter thinks of me
@@loopyglob7872 You probably should care; you know that all the staff remember exactly who you are, right? Stiff me on the tip and you're going to get the shittiest service possible on future visits. Don't fuck with people that fuck with your food!
@@loopyglob7872 A lot fo companies don't really demand tips, the demanding is for feedback.
Bro I work at Jersey Mikes, and I always feel bad when the tip question pops up, like all I did was make a sandwich
joe never fails to make me lose my edge streak
Joe actually makes me laugh One of the only ones fr
Joes entire personality is just a W
i make 2.13 bucks a hour as a server and it goes straight to taxes. so i basically work volunteer😂😂
Makes my day when Joey boy posts
i dont like tipping culture bc its not like a nice gesture anymore, its seen as a necessity.
joe never fails to spread my big toes
Joe never fails to make me think tipping is stupid
Joe never fails to make me keel over and turn into a frog
Getting tips at my fast food job makes my day😭
I love you Joe, keep smiling!
Bro in australia the adult minimum wage is $25 an hour 💀
L take, blud is not considering that tipping is supposed to be a nice/kind gesture not a compulsory charge. people expect to get charged the amount on the menu and me personally i would be mad if i were to try to pay with the amount i order and i see a 20% tip automatically added because then i no longer have enough to pay
I love when joe Bart watches degnerocity
joe always give me his biggest tips 💀😭
54 seconds I would sa this video is amazing but I havent watched it yet. Joe you're the best.
Joe never fails to get down and dirty
RIP JOE BARTOLOZII
Fresh out the shower to a joe vid is nice.
Joe is life
in the state i live in, if you get tips often a company could legally pay you 2 dollars an hour
Joe never fails to make my tip bigger
In England we tip if the service is good and it is not expected unless at a restaurant and normally it's just when you leave for example just leave £5 on the table when you leave or about $6.23
joe never fails to tip the big one ☠ ☠
4:20 100% im a waitress and like 3 days ago i had a table of 8 (not counting the kids) got their order to them in under 15 minutes + drinks + napkins + babyseats ect ect without them ever having to ask about or for anything, they ordered i'd say like $350 worth of food and drinks and they stayed there after eating for about an extra hour (in my job you have a section and if one person is taking up that table then you have less customers aka less tips for the day) and after they all left, i bagged their stuff ect ect (we're not required to do that for them but i always like helping out when i see they have kids because I see my mom and know its hard) and they left 0 tip lmao I wasn't mad but i thought "oh wow, dickheads"
EDIT: when people order drink after drink in a restaurant with a bar you owe a percentage of your tip to the bar aka because of people like that you actually end up LOSING YOUR PERSONAL MONEY
what a shit take lmaoo
@@hashimalsmael3396 what a shit person lmao
It sucks but thats why tips at least where i live are expected for good service
EDIT: apart from that we owe a percentage of our tips to the bar, and the host/hostess as well so if we dont get tips we have to pay out of OUR pockets thats another reason theyre expected
what a shit comment lmao@@hashimalsmael3396
still feels like he’s still here 🕊️🪦
As a Norwegian I’ve never seen anyone tip ever, we don’t tip over here
joe never fails to give the tip
There’s this Chinese buffet place called Royal where I live and the waiters will literally not let you leave until you tip and the like two times I’ve been there I’ve tipped like a penny because WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO EARN A TIP IM LITERALLY SERVING MYSELF
Joe never fails to encourage me to give big tips 💀
Joe never fails to inform me of tips
Joe never fails to make me do backflips
Blud in love with joe
Bro tot us a hole lesson on tipping💀💀💀💀💀
To be fair, a lot of food prices have gone up a ton
Any fast food place will never get a tip from me. Only restaurants
@3:25 why bro gotta flex on us like that💀
The restaurants we go to as a family has the waiters fighting over our table when they see my dad 😂 He's overly generous to those that deserve it and after he's been served a few drinks
Joe never fails
I am currently crying so hard right now. This is seriously the most beautiful, well put together story ever. I can’t believe how magical it was 1:12. That part truly made me shed a tear. And especially at 6:34 that part was just so truly heart touching words can not describe the series of emotions I felt. I absolutely loved the climax it had insanely excellent detail. Oh and we can’t forget the conclusion. The conclusion was the greatest and saddest conclusion I have ever seen better than any of the books I have read. Thank you so much for creating this absolute masterpiece. This is essentially the most important masterpiece of film history. It is a tragedy that this, it can’t be called a film, but a transcendent emotional experience, will be inaccessible for most. It beautifully encapsulates the human struggle to its basics; suffering, pleasure, faith, despair. It connects with the characters within the viewers, individuals suppressed within our own subconscious. It stays vibrant, fresh, and revolutionises the art of storytelling and filmmaking while making a damn of statement on what it means to be human. Entertaining, gripping, and simply exhilarating. This might be the most impactful piece of art I’ve come across in my life, and I’m definitely coming back to it in the near future to study it more deeply. this is an absolute masterpiece , I was brought to tears listening to this and seeing the bacon go whirly swirly in a circle countless times. it absolutely moved my soul , and i don't think I can ever be the same. this bacon has changed my entire mental state , I am now at peace with who I am and what I will be doing later in my life. i have forgiven all my enemies and now I am a man of a pacifist life. i will move on , gotta move on , as the song says. the bacon is so inspirational , it shares it vast wisdom with all of us , and we are all so lucky that it would bestow it's great words with us. we are all children on bacon. hail bacon. hail bacon. The spinning bacon, rotating in one direction with this music... This made me tear up. How could such a bacon do such a thing? Im struck by awe by this masterpiece. Especially when the bacon spins, showing its lightly salt covered tan skin. I can hear the crunch just from here, and so as the beautiful sound of the bacon scraping the dark, smooth velvet floor. The flavor, music and everything can be heard, tasted, seen and felt from a screen. You can really hear the breaths between the music artist, empathising her love for this rotating bacon. Truly what I call modern art. This was the most legendary performance by any piece of bacon I have ever watched. The acting was top tier and very life changing.
