  • In any room she enters, Ashala is an energetic, vibrant spirit. But after grappling with a loss in the family and the isolation of remote learning, Ashala turned inward, struggling to stay motivated in school and to socialize with her peers. Participating in arts education at The Crucible, helped her find her creative voice and express the wide range of emotions she’d been holding the past few years.
"When I came to The Crucible, I had to speak out more,” shared Ashala. “Art is a powerful thing to express how you feel. Even if you don't want to say it-the art will tell it all,” Ashala emphasized. “Having a voice here really helped me be more active in my academics."
At The Crucible, Ashala found a support system and a creative outlet when she
needed it most. In 2022, you can ensure youth access life-changing experiences.
