Awesome review 🤩love ours, + it’s been a life saver in a power outage in the summer💪🏾paired with a 1400w solar generator it ran all day no problems had plenty of ice to help neighbors fill their coolers🤗
This ice maker is an evaporative ice maker. The ice is made like an icicle on a roof eave. The water runs down to the bottom and most contaminants drop off the end. The ice is very clear and hard cubes. They will be solid! This is the same way large restaurant units work to make ice. When the cycle is done, the pump reverses to warm the ice tray, causing the ice to fall out. It takes 8-12 minutes to run a cycle depending on the thickness you desire. You can use a larger water bottle and that is what the black fitting is used for, to hold the bottle. We use a filter pitcher for our ice. The Zero Water filter pitcher is absolutely fantastic. It removes chlorine, dirt and many micro contaminants from your water for clear, clean, hard ice that is clean tasting as any reverse osmosis unit we've had (just my opinion on the RO System taste comparison). We change the filter every 25 gallons or if ice starts looking less clear. Our unit is the 48lb per day and we leave in plugged in and running full time. I hope you find this review helpful.
If the bucket is full, it stops. If you leave the ice in the bucket it will start to melt. As soon as the machine senses there is room for now cubes, it will turn back on.
