I was temped to wait for these to drop but I'm kinda glad picked up the Mafate Speed 4's instead. I have a wideish midfoot so I dont think i would have gotten on with them. The speedlace system is also so hit and miss for me. In the ultraglides it locks my heel in fine. In the sense ride its a different story. I still wouldn't mid trying them out at some point as they seem to tick all the boxes for a solid UK trail running shoe. Thanks for providing insight into these shoes- it really does help my buying decisons a lot!
Not to change model discussion, but have you tried the Salomon Genesis? As we all have different thoughts on foot shape and drop etc…I feel the Salomon Genesis is one of the best shoes released by Salomon to date for long trail races or training. With that said I have a slightly wider foot, so finding a Salomon shoe that provides foot splay is a win win. Have a great weekend everyone 🤙🏽
Hi how would you compare to Speedgoat 5? I run on the downs here in the UK which are super muddy and slippery with the wet chalk and find the speedgoats could be better grip wise. Thanks
Hi would u recommend these over speedcross? And would u stick to ur usual size or size up for this? I usually wear 10.5 and wondering if I shud go up to 11
@@UltraTrailSteven thank you for ur feedback. I take it it’s the same size as ur other regular shoes as well not just Salomon shoes? The reason I ask is because I ordered the Salomon cross hike 2 shoe and they fit better with 11 but for other shoes I wear a 10.5 so wondering if I shud follow my Salomon size or just go with my regular 10.5. Thanks again in advance

I am glad my review helped! Yes, I prefer the Mafate Speed 4 over these as well.
Same here, went Mafate 4’s.
I had a gut feeling it would have draining issues due to the overlays. If they come out with a V2 I’m sure we’ll see some changes
Yeah I agree, and hope we do see some changes.

I have not yet, but I want to for sure! It is on my list.
I have a normal width heel going into a wide (E-2E) forefoot. Would the genesis be a good fit?

Grip is really good on these in mud. Possibly better than the Goats. On wet rock, the Goats are better.

I have not tried the Speedcross, but the Thundercross were nice. Same size as my other Salomon’s.

@@MikeyMoran for me yes.
@@UltraTrailSteven Suweet thank you for the info
Tried both, true to size on both!
Solomon's are too narrow for me, especially in the heel. My feet are Altra snobs. There's no going back.
Altra snobs HAHAHA
