    good video, but I get to the destination test and get "Failed: Cannot Login into destination server using credentials provided." It would be nice to know what to do in this instance. I have started from scratch several times, restarted both computer and copier, but no luck.

      there's no easy answer unfortunately....many factors to consider and trouble shoot....i can only guess to check that you have smb turned on. windows automatically turns smb 1 off for security purposes. try it on and if it works decide if you want to chance it on....also check all your sharing options are turned on. finally try it on a different computer just to make sure you are setting it up correctly

      Depending on of this is a domain setup you can use global admin and it should work, however a local admin of the computer where the share is located will work. Make sure to use Computername\username in the username field so if it is domain you are not confusing it with domain credentials.

      Also, keep in mind 2 important things. First, the username you set up on your computer, when using SMB "must have" admin rights and you must set it up under the share folder to "read/write" some just leave it "read" and this is the issue.
      On the copier interface, a lot of times people go way overboard and create a folder that is deeply set well beyond a default folder at the root of the drive. Meaning C://Scans_Folder - Some have it C://BizFolder/Docs/SalesDept/2ndFloor/Cluster6/DataFolder1/Scans - This type of folder needs to properly have the routed link placed in the setup just below where this video types in scans.

    Resetting the password may not be necessary. I'm an authorized Xerox dealer as well and the truth is, the password is now your Serial Number. While standing in front of the copier, look at the door on your LEFT SIDE - This is where the Fuser is and in that door on the door jam housing you will find your serial number there. Password is "cap sensitive". Since all Xerox Serial Numbers are in full caps, make sure you enter them as full caps in the password.

      yes, you are correct. Serial number will work most of the time but every now and then the serial number will not work and one of the ways we reset it is with an ALTBOOT firmware updatge...and sometimes this doesn't work either....

      @@PrestigeOfficeSolutions If you ever have that issue, I can help you. The reason why sometimes it's not the serial number is if it's not upgraded the SPAR since it's initial 100 version. Also correct that resetting the NVM in Service Mode doesn't always work either. Especially on the newer 81XX series machines now. I'm one of those red-headed step children authorized Dealers who came in through the NARS program, so I don't get direct support from Xerox and most don't know the SPAR you get on their website is "upgrade only" and not the same version as the one authorized dealers get. The SPAR authorized dealers get will wipe out any and all passwords every time. If you use the one off their website, it will only wipe out passwords if it "upgrades" the SPAR to the newest edition. If you use the 200 series and it already had the 200 series installed, then no passwords will be removed.

      @@chrispatriot very valuable info. thank you. in the past ALTBOOT use to be the fix for all password resets. I haven't tried ALTBOOT on the new 81xx not sure it will even work anymore

      @@PrestigeOfficeSolutions It does still use SPAR .dlm files but there are some quirky changes. :) I'd highly suggest connecting with an authorized Xerox dealer as a friend because the SPARs they have on the website are pretty much useless for a service tech. :) Wish you the very best sir! Us little guys have to watch out for each other as the corporate manufacturers are slowly attempting to weed us out. :)

      there's not just one reason this could be happening. I don't think anyone can advice you correctly without hands on troubleshoot. i can guess what the problem is but this is never the best way to go about it..... it can be a bad HDD or controller board among many other reasons....best option is to contact a xerox service provider to come onsite for proper diagnostics

      make sure to reserve the computer's ip address in your router setting using your computers Mac address. this will eliminate the possibility of your computer changing ip address in the future

      No, no....just use the computer's "hostname" instead of it's IP. You can find this by clicking the search icon by the start button and typing "system" and clicking on "system information", there you will find System Name, this is your hostname. As long as DNS is working properly across your network this will prevent DHCP issues in the future as the hostname does not change unless you change it. Also, you do not need Windows Pro to use this, not sure where that misinformation came from...

    how many single persons buy a BIG printer like that?? ZERO !!! this is for a company, and ofcourse they have a server were you scan to. SO, you need to put the "document path" witch you DONT show
