For the best viewing watch the video in 720 by 60p The reason i didn't upload this video sooner is the fact that the camera setting were all wrong when filming, but changing the viewing quality fixes the imperfections. Hope you enjoy and im looking forward to getting out and doing some more barbel and chub fishing. Well when the weather warms up and IT STOPS BLOODY RAINING!

Barbels hit like tanks! A couple years ago I had hooked a 15cm long barbel on a cheap 2m telescoping fiberglass rod and it snapped the top section of the rod like it wasn't even there!
    Absolutely beatiful fish!

Been trying to get a decent video together this winter. Really inspired by watching yourself and a few others so started my own fishing channel. First year targeting pike and its been a real struggle to get any decent footage let alone actually catch fish. If its not lockdown causing an issue its the rain/ floods. Looking forward to being able to travel further to the better venues with good weather! 🤞

I live in area that has 3 rivers, a canal and 3-4 ponds, but I'd absolutely love to be able to fish a small sized river like this that holds a wide variety of fish. The 2 smaller rivers where I live are rammed with just trout and grayling, the bigger river, the Ure is OK, but finding the fish seems to be becoming more of a nightmare as time goes on for some reason.

    • @The_ginger_fisherman

You'll have to get on the UL lures for those trout I bet that's great fun. And my local river is gradually dying. Fish stocks are getting less and less every year it's sad to see as it used to be so prolific at one time

Beautiful barbels. Well done! I have a question and if someone could answer me it would be very nice.
Why are barbels hardly ever fly-fished? I know it is more than an institution to catch him with pellets or meat in England but it's a great fighter with a fly rod. If a fly fisherman has an opinion on this it's nice to share it. Thank you! ;)
