I've got a '93 SC300 automatic with 275K mi and I've gotta say man; the videos you've made so far are a life saver; keep it up! Seeing all the problems though makes me wonder whether these are common failures or just the car's old age...
Thankyou for the video I am replacing mine tomorrow and the only place I kind find a regulator was from Lexus. They are charging 380 just for the Regis layout i was wondering if you had gotten yours for cheaper and if so if you can send the link. Thanks 🙏🏽
mine binds going down? The rubber isolater between the 2 drive plates in the motor (under the gold snap on cover) deteriorated and the 2 plated seperated causing the drive to slip on high drag points (rolling it up or down at a certain point). I ended up flipping the convex drive plate and tack welding it to the gear plate and putting a washer under the snap ring. It must be tight or gear plate will slip out of plastic gear as its only about 3mm deep.
My passenger side has the same issues I replaced but it doesn’t last because the window it doesn’t go up and down smoothly something is interfering I don’t know what it’s the Mecanic they just change the part but they don’t resolve the issue that costing to keep braking
Hope you are online right now. But I'm working on my 98 sc300 and when I push the button for the driver side the relay just makes a buzzing sounds and the passenger side doesn't do anything at all. Do you think it's a regulator or the switch or something completely different?
If switch is not working from both side is very likely your regulator. Do you have window locks turned on? I’m guessing it’s off but something else to double check
@@Edward3jr Yeah the lock is off and thanks bro, I looked up a video and then used a little common sense and unplugged the wire that goes to the regulator and with one those light testers pushed the up and down button on both sides and the light lit up. So looks like switch is good but both regulators must be bad. Thanks again, got the car a few months ago and haven't had time to mess with it so finally doing little things on her
@@Edward3jr So after messing around and almost getting frustrated, I unplug the window regulator from the cars wiring harness and plug in a battery from my drill (12v) and the window's (both) go up and down. So it's the switch. Son of a *****. Well now time to hunt down a black switch.
only half decent. would have been nice to actually see how you disconnect the window from the regulator rather then see the parts laying there and kinda talking about. this could have been a really great video
I love how you show every step right down to the screws. It's very helpful for somebody new like me.
Thank you for letting me know this! I will try to continue to be as detailed as I can!

Thank you! It’s more than likely a combination of both.
Ed, I felt you when you said it was a pain to lineup those two screws...lol.
man, I am just now seeing this comment. Those screws are the worse lol, but not impossible.

Edward3jr it’s so cool to see someone fix all the stuff we all do just to make it a working car
Alex French this is good to know! I’ll do a better job and try to push these videos out sooner!
did you use the same motor or did your regulator come with a new motor?
It came with a new motor. Let me know if you have any questions about this.

I made a rookie mistake and was unable to capture the process. I’ll remake this video and do it better.
At least it doesn’t look too bad, now that it’s summer I’ll have to fix my window lol gets too damn hot
Yeah easy fix! Not bad at all! Let me know if you have any questions
