I think in america a lot of machine work has reduced the labor work that's why skilled laborers are very few.

We do have skilled workers here, but our labor costs are 30-50 times higher than India or Pakistan. As a consequence of that, to keep things affordable, we have to minimize the labor per piece. For better or worse, that means press dies and mass production instead of handwork.
