I’ve watched about 40 drywall tutorials on TH-cam a lot of them really good but I like that you take the time and the patience to explain all the steps and not just assume us newbies know the things like holding the drill away from your body and such appreciate it thank you for the content.
I have learned more watching 3 of your videos than I have in the last 2 weeks with others. I am feeling more confident in my mudding for my room addition. 👍
i’ve really have had a hard time applying the plus 3 (i’m a painter trying to do drywall repairs).. i was keeping it too thick with mixing it but not with enough water.. this was a huge help for me on how you mix it.. very helpful! thank you!
I had one of those mix bits it drove me crazy it would always leave lumps in the bottom of the bucket when I mixed base I changed up to a plastic mixer and found my bucket lasted a lot longer.Good video lots of people don’t know how to use boxes but there cheaper and better for the environment👍👍👍👍
Well, of course I had to find a woman to show me how to clean up my tools. Lots of guys out there show you how to skim coat but nobody talks about how to clean up the bucket and tools. Super great video and about a year later.
Plus-3 dents if you look at it the wrong way, and it has a gritty texture that makes it difficult to trowel to a smooth finish. I suggest using Midweight, as it is stronger, creamier, easier to apply, and sands almost as easily (and since it is easier to apply, there is less sanding). Plus-3 is also infamous for being the only mud I've used that is likely (as in almost certain) to roll off of my hawk and plop onto the floor. I hate the stuff. It's also the only mud I've used that has grown mold. Never had that happen with AP or MidWeight, but several times with Plus-3. As for the mixing, you've got to be insane to suggest that you should be using that watery mixture for "screws, or cornerbead" at 6:34. That much water guarantees shrinkage as the water evaporates. As for cornerbead...welcome to callbacks! Plus-3 is so weak that using it on cornerbead borders on negligence. Use Durabond, which is pert' near as hard as concrete for your critical corners.
I'm sure she appreciates the tips. She's only been doing this for 20 years. I looked for your drywall tutorials but didn't find any. And since the video is sponsored by the manufacturer, if USG disagreed with anything she said they probably wouldn't have wanted her to release the video.
I really enjoy your videos and the information that you share and disseminate! Could I recommend that you try some type of a 🎤 microphone when recording your videos in large, bare wall, echo-ee rooms? (it’s hard for an old man like me to completely make out all of your words! 😉)
I'd probably be a halfway decent drywall mud mixer. I'm pretty good at working out ratios and going off consistencies and feelings. But if it turned out it was something I didnt like doing I'd follow my golden rule- Go full bast with the drill and pull it up outta the bucket n fling it all over the place. 😂 Usually if it is your first time doing something and you tell them you can get away with pretty much anything. They'll just get all frustrated and be like go do this instead; which works for me! 😀 The hardest part would be looking all shocked but I got that part down 🤫
Hey . I am from Ontario Canada near Toronto . we get USG products but here it's CGC brand I guess only for Canada . I am looking at beavel joints behind you and it seems like your 10" box is not fully covering it .. We are having HUGE problems with beavels here my 3.5 " corner finisher is not covering tape very well and also just like yours it's showing beavels so we gotta open 12" box to compensate .. Also mud lately is full of pinholes ( fisheyes ) do you notice any of this ??? 😎
I'm my area the boxes are double the hight and we only get taping, all purpose, finishing, and classic mud. They are all made by usg though, where are u based out of? I've never seen plus 3 where I'm from
Their both made by usg but Beadex brand muds are regional. They are typically in the northwest and they have some that are made specifically for what finishers are applying in that area.

I love this, it's like a tutorial for her little daughter. But it is like a drywall mudding for dummies. For the grown man. This is so sweet.

Nah. There’s a CC button for you. She talks fine, and the audio is fine.
Thanks for all the tips. Great vid

thats confidence for ya! the best confidence to have is when you have nothing backing you up at all, cause then itll never leave ya!!!!
Very well explained 👍
Check the mixer bar for sharp edges, sand paper should smooth them out and stop those plastic bits from happening.
Are you running a nail spotter?
I had a drywall guy mix plus 3 with some easy sand 20 hot mud. Is that ok? I assume they want it to dry faster.
If you mixed way too much, how long would it be good in a sealed bucket?
Great video! Do you recommend using plus 3 for taping or all purpose? Thank you!
Thank you! All Purpose for taping and then plus 3 for coating
@@DrywallShorty Awesome, thank you!
Buenas tardes, exelente video buen trabajo saludos desde chile 👍🇨🇱🇨🇱👍👍👍🌹⚘⚘🌹⚘⚘⚘⚘
They sell a cool bucket holder at home Depot now
Do you know how long the mud is good for after opening the box if you keep it in the 5 Gallon bucket with a lid?
To put wet cloth on the top of mud will save for longer
A good lid will keep it useable for a couple months, assuming no one sneezed in it.
Is it true that the 4 blade mixers spin the bucket less?

Can you use this mud to do the taping?

I’m in Montana in the US 👍
We keep holding the bag and leave it not with a speck of paste on it, and then we take the carton and sell it for recycling, not with anything at all.
Hi! What Mud do you recommended for taping?
All purpose
Where do you find Plus 3 in Canada? I have exhausted all searches :( all i can find is the blue/green/red/yellow all purpose.
I believe usg in Canada is Cgc? I’ll have to ask around if they have something similar they make in Canada
@@DrywallShorty
It sure is. I actually spoke with a cgc rep yesterday and was told you can no longer get plus 3 in Canada unless through amazon. Sad!
A little mud and a little paint makes a hanger what he ain't
India🇮🇳. 👌👌👌👌👌
What is the difference between USG Sheet rock and USG Beadex ?
Their both made by usg but Beadex brand muds are regional. They are typically in the northwest and they have some that are made specifically for what finishers are applying in that area.
@@DrywallShorty
Thank you
Does it have a specific purpose ?
Here in NY ...never seen box mud
Yeah I think it’s more of a west coast thing!
Here in jersey we c it all the time..
Lucky, you don’t have to steal someone else’s buckets or buy them
👍🏻

If anyone asks you to level 5 the house.. just get the painter to do it.. takes 4 hours to do a house including the ceilings..
What are you talking about???
@@carlosdelgadillo4098 level 5 is a skim coat
@@JONO3679 I'm saying is that doesn't take 4 hrs??
@@carlosdelgadillo4098 its does if your spraying it on ..and depending on the size of the house.. say 350sqm house
She’s doesn’t mention anything about the lumbar back muscles being used and abused .. all day ..leaning forward like that .. 😮
Okay
Hola
Hi
You can take a poop in the box if there's no outhouse
That mud is waaay too thin. It should hold your knife for the most part
Impossible to hear the audio on a cell phone with any background (normal) noise.....how about investing in a $5 lapel microphone?
I need work
PLEASE, Cut that paddle shorter. People have lost eyes, it only takes a second. tapers tend to move fast.

The power of women.😊
I wouldn't spin the mud that fast that's how you get bubbles
Can we get married lol
