I'm glad you mentioned astral chain it's literally one of the only switch games I can barely find any videos on such as finding all collectables.
It totally flew under the radar despite being Platinum Games. I guess it wasn’t marketed well enough.

Erkan Mehmedali It sold over a million copies and is regarded as a success. It’s done better than most games by them.
Bought Astral Chain day one, worth every penny. Just be aware that the extra missions after the end of game will punish you at every turn.
I beat astral chain in 3 days.( Beat it on casual) Also wdym it will punish you, is the mission very hard after beating the game?
@@seanmurrell1926 file 12's final missions are extremely difficult to the point where you jave to change your style of gameplay and fully understand the mechanics the game has to offer.

Those missions are indeed punishing. The combinations of enemies and limited items they give make it harder

@@oreox1000 SO4 is good in combat, it has a pretty bad section of story for at least 1/3 of it,but recovers a bit. I still think so 1 and 2 are better than all other so games, with all of them beating 5

Watched this video to find out who was on the thumbnail. Didn't show up in the video. Super annoyed. But then it came to mind, hmm she sorta looks like that one girl from SO4, but pretty sure that game never came out on switch. Turns out it is Myuria from SO4. ....Dammit.
Strange to see Astral Chain as an underrated game, I always thought this is one of the best AAA exclusive games on this platform.
i think the hype died down when people finally accepted tthat it was a switch exclusive n stopped review bombing it

@@oreox1000 AAA games are usually qualified as super high budget games, Astral Chain is nowhere near close a high budget game.

The police tasks were kinda wack. Everything else was amazing. Bayonetta was superior on replayability because it gets right into the fun part of the game, the combat. Wtf was that legion cleaning mini task?

Not too long. Controls take a bit to get used to. There can be a lot going on but I’d sad maybe 1-2 hours to get the hang of it

Cross Code is unbelievably fantastic. I'm playing it right now as I watch this video. I cannot recommend it enough.
This is the most legit “Underrated games you need to play” list for the Switch I’ve ever seen. I was on the fence on a few of these and now I’m going to commit.
Astral Chain has to be one of my most favorite games.
I don't own a Switch a lot of these games look fun to play, the only game I have played on your list was Garou: Mark of the Wolf's on ps2, Im glad it's considered a great game and is on a great list, thanks TVGS for another awesome list 👍
Astral Chain is a masterpiece....
a forgettable story but a master development in hackslash gameplay, probably the best of the best since bayonetta.
@@ShineOnDarkness I liked the story but yea, it isn't sth super special like Xenoblade. I agree, the combat is amazing and just feels really good and even more when mastered.
Garou: Mark of the Wolves is easy to play but hard to master.

Crosscode. Worth every penny. It was so fun. Even losing made me want to play more and get better to beat the bosses.

Star Ocean: First Departure was my first PSP game. I love it. I wish they should port 2nd game. I have that PSP version, too.

p.s. Astral Chain is a master class action game. I’d even say its combat was the best I’ve ever played.
Good call on Astral Chain. It is a freaking great game, and I wish more people would play it. I'd love a sequel, although considering the sales, I don't think that's in the cards :(
Astral Chain sold over 1 million copies, and is one of Platinum Games best selling games. Bayonetta 2 sold less than that and is getting a sequel, so if sales are the deciding factor it's not unlikely. There are other things that might affect it though... For example, Nintendo being partial owner of the IP and(I've heard, but I'm not sure) the artist being the owner of the main characters in the game instead of Platinum themselves. That means(assuming I don't have bad information) they have to coordinate with two different entities to release a sequel instead of just... doing it... which might make it less likely.
Then again Bayonetta is owned by Sega and Nintendo funded its sequels, so if we're comparing other platinum series again, then the coordination thing might not be a problem either.
The game I recommend most (or games, really) is the Neo Geo Pocket Color Selection Vol.1. Even for fans who already own the NGPC, this compilation offers a unique feature: playing 2P w/o a link cable and using only 1 copy of the game.

The only game I have on the Switch in this video is Astral Chain, and I agree completely with your take on it! I had trouble finding either a new or used copy in many GameStops I visited, but finally tracked one down, and have been enjoying it since!

Hopefully we’ll see a sequel down the line. The overall Gameplay Loop of Astral Chain is perfect as it is, there’s definitely some things that can be improved upon if a sequel ever happens.
Anyways, until then let’s just patiently wait for Platinum Games to finish Bayonetta 3.

@@AnarickTheDevil you’ve found many new copies for sale in my area? Which stores, as I had trouble finding one in person when I went.
@@gott2641 yeah, far as I know Astral Chain is out of print. Even a quick search at Amazon pulls up the UK version but not the North American. ebay, it appears, has 1 brand new copy though there are quite a few used copies. Perhaps some people don't care but I prefer the North American version.
It's a great game though. Being a early life release title, likely a niche seller, this game is only going to get harder and harder to come by imo. Unless of course Nintendo or Platinum do a second print. Truly a must own for any Switch owner, though, imo.
Looking forward to checking out a few of the other games mentioned on the list.
Ultra Age is my new favorite game. It is so incredibly underrated

I have to say Kamiko is a fun short zelda light game for $5 and the whole Master Blaster 0 series is a great metroidvania game as well.

Oh yeah I bought it when it was on sale for .99 cents and it was a nice little experience.
Not gonna lie. Some games you showed legitimately looked amazing. Gonna be looking at Riptide GP Renegade and Crosscode after this. If you want to give more underrated games more love, please take a look at Indivisible as well! They’re from the makers of the recent Cristales and both games look amazing.

Alliance Alive HD, is definitely a solid game that is underrated. It's a RPG that was original on the 3DS, but it got the HD remake and looks great on the Switch.

I just want games to run at a stable framerate. I find it really annoying when I hit L to use stasis in botw an I see the framerate drop to single digit numbers.
The only system released by Nintendo that was cutting edge in computing power for its time was the Wii U, a flop!

What utter bollocks. The N64 was cutting edge and the Gamecube were cutting edge. The WiiU was basically just an evolution of the Gamecube like the Wii and the only thing cutting edge about it was it's communication system between the base and the tablet controller. Funny thing is though that I reckon if they'd put 4GB of DDR4 in it instead of 2GB it would of held up quite well in multiplat games alongside base model Xbones and PS4s.

Astral Chain is a fantastic game, but one I felt never became comfortable to control. There were just too many buttons and things happening for me to ever lose thought of those button presses.

I picked it up for $10 and started it. How bad of a grind are we talking?
@@oreox1000 well I’m stuck on the succbus* boss fight. You need to level 59 to beat her and I’m only at 45😅. Also , eckdart was 10ish level grind

I got astral chain as a gift when it came out and I haven’t even opened it. I completely forget I even have it until I watch a video that mentions it or a friend talks about it. I’ll probably try it out after I finish fire emblem again unless I forget about it again lol

It's been years since playing a Trials game so Urban Trial Playground is perfect for me to return to this type of a game!

I brought RF4 Special in May of this year and instantly fell in love with it! The characters are superb and gameplay feels rewarding. There are many characters that have interesting lore. The person I married in my first playthrough is Vishnal!
Awesome list. Although, I wouldn't say Astral Chain is underrated. The game generates quite a bit of fanfare and buzz up to launch. It's also heavily promoted in stores. The game have its quirks but for the most part, universally praised among fans of the genre.
It sold over a million copies and I have heard that a sequel is possibly in the works too.
Crosscode is definitely on my must-have list if I ever get a Switch

This is the sign for me to finally play Astral Chain. It has been on my backlog for a long time now.
Astral Chain also has incredibly good music.
mark of The wolves is my favorite 2D fighter of all time and is definitely overlooked more than it should be what should be not at all

Yes. The gal's name is Myuria Tionysus and has only appeared in 2 Star Ocean games to date. This channel is infamous for using busty gals as thumbnails to draw in viewers regardless of which game they come from.

Astral Chain really is criminally underrated. I mean, it's honestly one of the best Switch exclusives but it's forever getting forgotten about in everyone's lists of "Great Games on the Switch."
Played Astral Chain here and there, but it didn't bring me back often than DMC3. And it's not cos of the combat, but rather it's lack of a bloody palace-esque survival arena.
Saw all the good comments about astral chain and all you had to say was platinum games😁

Your videos are nice but you desperately need to increase your capture quality / video encode bitrate, everything looks like its in 480p.
