Super nice job! If I may: I would keep the cutter pin both legs and pry each legs around the nut. They will never touch the cap this way and you will have peace of mind.
I used a similar bearing grease fixture that had a Zerk fitting on top where you would attach a grease gun and it would uniformly fill all the voids in the bearings. I found white lithium grease worked well on wheel bearings.
Yes that brake assembly does look better. Very tidy indeed. Well, it would seem a bit odd to not just bother with them, when the rest of this car will be driving like it's brand new ! NICE job. Also, will be Interested to hear a bit more about rear axle, as this was our Galaxie's Achilles heel. Apparently.. . .
I humbly agree to disagree with your wheel bearing adjustment. I am probably the ten thousandth one so bear with me and even mutter "idiot" under your breath light enough it doesn't record. The way I was taught on timken tapered bearing was/is.... tighten with breaker bar till wheel is locked. Stemp two: is take that malet that is rbbercoater (deadblow) and smakd drum to see if anything is loose. Step three; using same breaker bar, loosen one quarter and see if it spins...It should freely and if it feels tight the go one more till a cotter key will slide in and the wheel should spin nicely now. On lugs when I pull them out, I put never seize on them and draw them in like you did, then; take a punch and a large hammer and give it a hard rap to seat the bolt. that is the on the one just put in. Carry on cause the book is never wrong.... is it? I hope not cause the way you did it let me down
That Dodge was a real gas hog even a Ford 429 or 460 would have been better (but not by much). I had a couple of Dodge cars with the LA 318 2 barrel and they weren't too economical either. I am much happier with a 4 cylinder Honda Accord which makes the same net HP but is much better on gas.
👍Good stuff. Lovin’ the detail work!
Man ,you're doing a great job.
thanks & stay warm !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It feels like every day is Christmas with all these videos! Merry Christmas Howard!
I know.... my bank account even looks like I have done mad Christmas shopping. Merry Christmas to you too.
Very nice job your doing on the 66 convertible, remind me a lot of the 65 sedan custom I had back in 1975.
Super nice job!

I just use what I have in the great gun at the time. This grease is a lot like lithium, but green instead of white.

I love the ss break lines. A great touch. They will outlast the car.

The wheel bearings look like new ... that's gonna be a nice car when you're all done.... green top or white..??
I will go with a black top, as thats what it came with new. It still has the original top.
@@OldCarAlley black is nice also..what wheel covers.....I saw your past cars..you have good intentions & good taste..nice combos
I just pack them by hand
Sometimes I do too.
Howard: those break lines look awesome!
Is your garage fully insulated and how do you heat it!
Cheers

That gas pig Dodge had lots of power. Bet it would drag a dozen Honda's all at once with no problem.
@@OldCarAlley That is true that 400 engine was a torque monster. Now if you had the RB 440...
First.....ha ha 😁
