    Xtend 15'6 and 26' little giant (velocity) fit in a 2015 Toyota Corolla with the back seat laid down and the passenger seat moved up. Get's me on 98% of roofs.

    Midwesterner - mostly wind on mostly multi roof (upper and lower levels - lots of them)... Suggested: Little Giant KING KOMBO - 8' (goes to 14, weighs nothing). 13 footer folding - and a couch cushion to set on ridge, as the folders have flared bottoms. Tie off with VELCRO not bungee. Lastly - 24' or 28' little giant Hyperlite. Double pulls are safer when done correctly vs. a 28' spread and strapped. Roof does NOT give (when on cushion) with velcro to gutter. The newer gorilla folders are HALF the weight of the older little giants and the Werners. I have 13 (2), 17, 22, 26 in the folding, 32, 28 and 20 ext (outside of the little giant hyperlites). They are all for sale if you want one... Only suggestions. Last note - the pull (rope) mechanism on the little giants are so much better than traditional.

    In the 'olden days - Symbility (2018ish), you could take the photo inside the app (and the app was stable) - narrate vis headset, and poof - once done - photos are in order and done. They now push CAPTURE - which is ridiculous. LiDAR is great (sans stairs). We used to be able to have our own assemblies (much like macros in Xact) - but in their growth - it too has fallen to growth of the company moving way too fast and nothing works so well - but they have tons of workarounds...

    Great video guys. Love to listen to you guys talk about your experiences and tips! Any chance we can see what kind of macros you guys are working with, or where we might be able to find some basic macros to start with? New adjuster here just looking to be efficient.

      Check out adjustertvplus.com I've got a training over there with a HUGE pile of macros and template estimates (among others). You can get a 7 day free trial and check that out. It's the Xactimate X1 Max video training series.

      What is a macro? Is it basically a shortcut for line items in xactimate? That my guess anyway

    As a mitigation supervisor this is very interesting!! I deal with adjusters every day (independent and insurance) and we appreciate you guys but sometimes you love to Nickle and dime our services when we know what needs to be done in order to properly mitigate a loss. Love the content!

    I just bought my first ladder, ended up going with a 22 fit little giant, you’re right it is heavy, but no ladder rack. Is marking up the shingles or gutters a big deal?

    • @AdjusterTV
      @AdjusterTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, Trucker Jim!! Denting gutters is a big deal if you're not going to already be paying for the gutters. Best bet is to be careful. You can install thin rubber strips on the gutter-facing side of the top section of your ladder to keep from scratching. Truth is, tho, most gutters are pretty durable and made to have a ladder leaning up against them. I've only scratched or crushed a few gutters in my days in the field, even without pads.
      If you properly secure your ladder to the gutter before you get on the roof, much less chance of you damaging the gutter.
      As for marking up the shingles, not sure what you mean regarding a ladder. But in general, you'll find that most roofs already have some evidence of foot traffic on them - be sure to NOT mistake that for hail damage.

    Do all CAT IA have to physically climb a ladder to inspect roofs or do they use a drone/ camera and never have to climb a ladder?

    • @AdjusterTV
      @AdjusterTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For cat property, a person needs to be up on the roof. In a lot of cases you need to be able to touch and feel the roofing material to make a determination on the damage. Drone work is still in it's infancy and not widely adopted by carriers.

      @@AdjusterTV Yup. Big reason Ill just stay staff. I can get on the ranchers if I feel like it but let someone else get on the spooky slopes. That or go large loss for claims where the roof and possibly house isnt there anymore so no worries!

    Question, do you have any advice on the steps one should take to get their licensing in Canada? In the US (Texas specifically) it seems WORLDS easier to get your education. I'm not looking for loop holes, but I want to work catastrophe claims in the US with a friend, though it seems yeaaars away.
