Thanks Ian, I’ve always tried to keep it fairly down to Earth. There’s no real difference between me and any other modeller except that I’m filming what I’m working on. Thanks for watching 😃
How about Pitchford Hall? She’s a preserved steam locomotive from the Great Western Railway, which has changed location to a line built by the Great Eastern.
Yep, it's surprising what will actually cope with 1st radius. I did a more in depth video here if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/WQx4X26IY8k/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching 😃
@@ThatModelRailwayGuy Thanks for the reply. I've been looking at getting a new locomotive, my layout is single track 1st radius so I realise I don't have vast choices. I've looked at 0-6-0 tender engines as well as Bo-Bo diesels but want to be sure that whatever I do get will run smoothly on my 1st radius track without problems.
I love your youtube videos and I've been there since nearly day one and loved to see how far you've come. One thing I would say and I know you need to push it but I feel like you push the whole youtube members thing a bit too much, but not as bad as others, so I'm staying subscribed and keeping on watching.
Thanks, it's always nice to know people stick around! Yeah the Membership is a tricky one, if I don't mention it regularly then people don't know it exists. That along with the Sponsorships are really what allows me to continue making these videos to a high standard on a regular basis and releasing them for free too - but it's definitely a fine line. Thanks for watching 😃
@@ThatModelRailwayGuy we understand, and to be fair most other channels (ie: Sam'strains, Luke Towan, Chadwick Model Rail, etc.) all have memberships as well
Yes definitely agree with both Accurascale and Rapido. Have to admit I don’t have any experience with Cavalex because they tend to do more modern stuff but everything I’ve heard about them is good. Thanks for watching 😃
Hiya, I covered most of this in the series I did when I built to layout: th-cam.com/play/PLrxCs5t2FkmxLex747V0kLVpub41ITtT3.html This particular loco doesn’t have any smoke but I believe Hornby are working on locos that do have that capability. Thanks for watching 😃
In David Attenborough’s voice: “Here we see the lesser spotted railway modeller. Normally a reclusive breed, this specimen is keen to share his exploits with the world 😅
Hiya, I did a whole series on the construction of this layout a few months ago: th-cam.com/play/PLrxCs5t2FkmxLex747V0kLVpub41ITtT3.html Thanks for watching 😃
Hiya, it's a bit difficult to say as it could be any number of things. If it's a large loco on a small turnout then the wheelbase may be too long for the curve. That would be my best guess. Thanks for watching 😃
I absolutely adore the Southern D Class locomotive!! Nice to see it on your layout.
It’s a really nice loco isn’t it 👌
Good bunch of questions with very good answers thank you for taking use behind the scenes of that model railway guy 😀
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching 😃
Rapido is, to me, one of the better companies in the model railway sector, with a vast number of locomotives that I know in production.
Definitely agree with you on that one, Rapido have made some great models with more on the way! Thanks for watching 😃
If you're in the market for American HO/N locomotives, Atlas is one of the best. Can't go wrong with Walthers or Athearn as well
Awesome! Good info for fellow American modellers. Thanks for watching 😃
Yes! Behind the scenes!
Enjoy! Thanks for watching 😃
Enjoyed watching that. I've always found your channel very accessible so thanks. Some great questions ❤😀

Great Q & A!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching 😃

Perhaps it’s a good candidate for my preservation themed layout! 😃
Thanks for the really interesting answers. This was a great video so thanks very much
Thanks for your questions Nigel! Hopefully I'll be able to do another one of these soon. Thanks for watching 🤩
That SECR liveried 4-4-0 seems to be very happy going around that 1st radius curve layout.
Yep, it's surprising what will actually cope with 1st radius. I did a more in depth video here if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/WQx4X26IY8k/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching 😃

@@ThatModelRailwayGuy keep doing what you're doing. You're one of the best model railway youtubers out there in my opinion.

Yes you could try bachmann
An idea: split the oval long ways and do a different scene either side?
That could be fun, maybe that’s a project for next Christmas. Thanks for watching 😃
Accurascale and Rapido Trains are some of the better makes along with Cavalex Models with the Class 60 coming out too.
Yes definitely agree with both Accurascale and Rapido. Have to admit I don’t have any experience with Cavalex because they tend to do more modern stuff but everything I’ve heard about them is good. Thanks for watching 😃
How much was it to set all that up also does the train make smoke too? Looks beautiful
Also how much room space does it take up and was it time consuming to build that set or difficult?

What size is the layout that you have just shown theloco and goods wagons going round

Was that just sound effects with the D Class or has it got a sound decoder now?
The D Class does indeed have a sound decoder in it! I’ll actually have more news on this soon. Thanks for watching 😃
@@ThatModelRailwayGuy oh cool!
Why does my loco come off the turnouts? It's only my loco, not the carriers please.

It's a short-based loco. Thanks for getting back to me.
