Lancashire Colleges Engineering Competition 2024 at B&FC

The Lancashire Colleges’ Skills Competition Programme, took place 12-22 March 2024. It was delivered by a partnership of nine of Lancashire’s colleges, who each hosted a different competition, seeing their ‘home team’ competing against those from other colleges to demonstrate key skills.
Each competition was judged by a panel involving key local employers, with medals being awarded to the winners and runners-up, as well as special ‘Rising Star’ awards for the individual students that showed the most potential.
The Engineering round of The Lancashire Colleges' Skills Competition was held at B&FC. The brief was to design and produce a working prototype for an automated ping pong ball server with a budget of £100 and access to a range of supplies.
After the allotted time to come up with their winning solution comes to an end, the engineers will be tested and judged by our special employer panel.
