It's a satire to old murder ballads that somehow became famous in old-time Mountian music..... Look up Knoxville Girl, pretty Polly, banks of the Ohio, poor Ellen smith, rain and snow...... The content of those songs are somehow accepted, but this isn't... That's why it's funny. Only people who listen to early bluegrass and old time get why it's funny, we aren't laughing at the content, we are chuckling at a weird double standard of sorts.

For you people that don't like this song or plan to delete it from your radio station, you better delete Bluegrass and Country and Rap and all of it. All music is mostly about is cheating, killing, beating , etc. What about Knoxville Girl, Willow Garden , etc? You should just rip out your radio and never listen to music again.
