I hope you realize what a wonderfully talented and gifted artist you are. I think you are absolutely amazing! Thanks for sharing your gift. I appreciate you.
You're amazing. Thank you so much fr all of your videos. You will love the UK. My sister took me a few years ago. She has friends in Dewsbury..they took us all over the place. We also spent the weekend in London. Had a great time. Enjoy yourself.🤗👍💛
😯oh wow...this is just out of this world Cori! Your attention to details and how you use even tiny bits of lace, paper to create stunning pieces of journal art. Love the highlighting with the crystal glaze or when you use Beeswax. There is always so much to discover in your journals. Absolutely beautiful😍 Thank you 🙏 for showing us another art piece of yours.
Thank you for the kind comments. I enjoy creating and sharing different things as it always makes me smile to hear that something I shared launched an idea for another ❤️
Love your little journal. Thank you for showing the construction. I love all your beautiful laces. They make such a difference in the journals, clusters, etc.
I’m in love with this tiny hand sized journal. I don’t do as much grunge as you but I love your precision and this use of glassine paper envelopes. Just precious.😊
Thank you Cori once again for the beautiful idea. I love the idea of a gratitude journal for November. I'm always amazed at how you take the littlest pieces of scrap and make great ephemera out of them.
This is aawesome!! Thank you for sharing with us. That is an amazing way to make a wee book. I love the envelope way of making the wee journal! Perfect for November! Thank you ever so much! I was just yesterday thing about my word or phrase for the year! LOVE this. ReDiscover. Mine for this past year, was … “But GOD”. Every thing is OK “but GOD” wants it better…. Thanks again!
Love this little gratitude journal! I use the tyvek to reinforce the spines of my junk journals, too. Lots of great ideas here, Cori! Thanks for sharing! ❤
Excellent! I hope you have fun with it. I find it to be a great size for a specifically themed journal. Plus, I love that it so neatly fits in the hand 😊
Fabulous creation…thank you so much for sharing all your inspiration, hints, tips and ideas - I always thoroughly enjoy your videos and appreciate your time invested to share so much❤
This gratitude journal is wonderful! I love how you used the paperclips on the bottom of the pages to keep them more in line with the top of the page for the width of the spine! Brilliant! Your mind and creativity are a treasure to the paper crafting world!! Thank you for being a wonderful instructor and sharing all your amazing creative ideas with us! Hugs from South Dakota 🤗
WOW! I have no words…..This is just SO amazing! Thanks again for sharing your creativity with all of us. If you ever host a retreat, I would be the first one to sign up.
Thank You so much for not only the showcasing of this simply amazing gratitude journal, but explaining in such detail of putting it together! You are simply amazing. I love watching & listening to your calm voice and seeing your thought process as you create all things that are so beautiful and possible for any creator! I especially adored tiny my most favorite items made to date are journals in altoid tins ! I can only hope to create more of these in Christmas themed In time for my gift giving ! It scares me as a JJ seeing so many starting Christmas I’m just in autumn !! In Florida it really sneaks up on you as most of us are planting gardens and transplanting plants 🪴 So sorry for the novel - no need to reply 🥰
I enjoyed the novel and completely agree... there is something extra delightful about mini journals. Thank you for your kindness and I hope you and your family are doing well ❤️
I absolutely Love this idea, how incredibly creative you are! I also love the little pieces you showed at the beginning of the video. I can’t wait to make some of these. Thank you for sharing this idea with us! I really look forward to seeing the next video.
You certainly did get through all that doily, little piece bit by bit and now just that cutesy piece left..love looking at all the goodies you cleverly create. I bet kids love being in your class. I know, I enjoy being in your art room classroom. I so enjoy listening to you explaining this and that and seeing all your pretty things. I also love it when you occasionally “squirrel” because my kids tease and compare me to the old man from the movie “HOOK,” ‘I like grapes.’ Thank you as always, Cori.
I made this! I absolutely loved making this beautiful gratitude journal. I can't bring myself to write in it though😆 Thank you Cori for all your inspiration.
I love it! You are such an inspiration to think outside the box and not be afraid to try new ideas. Your inspiration gave me the nudge to try making not only little things but to just let my creative juices go and see what I can create. Can’t wait to see more. Have a blessed day!
So special! Love everything about this journal. Wanted to share something I have done as a keepsake. Instead of keeping some of the birthday or other cards I receive, I cut out the signatures (Love, Mom) and put them in an envelope or tuck spot in a journal.
Your attention to detail is unsurpassed. Everything you do has such a charming, delicate and intriguing nature, grungy and warm and engaging. From the smallest element, layered with such care and skill is simply delightful. This wee chunk of personal gratitude is simply enchanting and would be a most treasured forever heart gift...... thank you as ever for sharing the gift of you. ✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️
I didn't get them. I was a good girl because I really need to use what I already have. My craft room is busting at the seams so I'm really being good and using stuff up. I made my grandkids Halloween treats and instead of buying orange cardstock I used a color I do not love and ink blended it orange. It was an old mustard color that I've had for about 20 years and the distress oxide ink covered it right up. Anyway all that to say I'm really trying not to bring in new stuff.
I never had a gratitude journal and want to start one. The clever cuteness of the product you showed will definitely be an extra motivation for that plan. Thanks a lot for inspiration!
Thank you, Cori! You always create the most interesting and amazing journals that are so usable and decorative and above all, just darn cute! Awesome creativity! We’re heating up over here this week. Air conditioning time inside and looking for a shady spot if outdoors. 😀💞
Boom! If you heard a loud noise, it was my head exploding while I watched this video! Haha! The ideas you come up with blow my mind! You are so talented and prolific, Cori. Please give us a heads up if you decide to put this book in your Etsy shop!
Watching again n again. Using coin envelopes (so it will have to be a landscape format) and Tracie’s Autumn Hues kit since there were more square n landscape rectangle bits)
Oh Cori!!! This adorable little book is so amazing!!! I wish I could make one just like it but my wrist surgery recovery has been so slow & it hurts me to craft. I will definitely try this later on when I’m better. I really like your soon-to-be new word: rediscover and all the potential ways that can used in your craft’s & daily life 😊
I got them on Amazon, so maybe Amazon UK has them as well? They are 4 1/4" x 2 1/2"... not sure of the metric conversion. If you're not able to source them, please let me know and I'll happily send some to you. Thank you, Carol 😊
My goodness this little Journal is totally interesting and unique, im loving it 💖 😊. Can you use clear finger nail polish on the one pieces to make them glossy?
Oh Cori, this journal is just so beautiful and I love the concept of Gratitude, really looking forward to following along! Tracie's digitals are gorgeous too and I'll have to pop over and have a little look! One question, when you coffee/tea dye your glassine envelopes, do you let them dry naturaly or pop them in the oven or............? I never have much luck with coffee dying glassine but keen to have another go, the use of these envelopes for journal pages is just too cut not too! Sending Welsh Hugs 🥰🥰🥰
Oh, I loved that Welsh hug, thank you! With the coffee and glassine combo I find I’m happiest with the results when I use day old coffee in a baking pan, I dunk the pieces and don’t overly remove the excess. So, I leave them a bit drippy and Kay them flat to dry. Usually on my (not yet refinished) dining room table 😊. Once they’re completely dry I stack them in even sets and press them together between plywood. That’s what gets the drenched coffee color on the envelopes. I hope you’re enjoying a lovely fall, Welsh style ❤
Hi - I’m new to making junk journals. I love your videos- you do a great job explaining your process. My question is how do you attach each signature before yo attach it to the cover? I thought I seen you explain with these bags but I can’t seem to find it again. Can you give me the link so I can watch it please? I have all the signatures ready to be put together. That you so much for your time 😊
Hello and welcome! I'm not 100% sure I'm correctly interpreting your question... but with this journal the envelopes themselves make up each signature. You attach one envelope to the next until you have the amount you want for the journal. They attach to each other by using the envelope closure flap to glue to the next envelope. I sure hope that helps, if not please let me know!
Loving your video already and I’m only three minutes in ha ha! But I would like to know what is the difference between a Constantina fold and an accordion fold? Are they similar?
Thank you! I think they are a different name for the same thing. I was told that in some areas the accordion pleat/fold is called a concertina, hence mentioning both names.
Hi Cori i love this! I gathered all my materials to make this journal. Did you decorate the pages before you glued them together? And thank you for sharing!
Hello! No, I did not decorate first. I made the journal base and attached the back cover (with the lace spine attached) then did a mass make for the 6 different pieces. Then I decorated the pieces and finally attached the front cover. I wanted to make sure my spine was the correct width before attaching the front.
It really does make a fun and personal Christmas gift. I used glassine envelopes that I purchased on Amazon, then coffee dyed, in a 2 1/2" x 4 1/4" size. Thank you and happy creating!
I have tossed things (and that’s one of the reasons I love working with scraps. I can easily toss with no guilt!) but only rarely. When I dislike something I put it aside and come back in a day or two. Most of the time I figure out a way to rework or salvage it. But sometimes … into recycle it goes 😊
OMG this is so gorgeous whoever gets this is very lucky thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas and techniques take care stay safe
Thanks so much 😊
As usual, a total Treasure Trove of ideas that I will keep coming back to. THank you for sharing!
I’m happy that it’s helpful. Thank you 😊

Old laces are such happy things. Thank you!
Watching a year later, and just love the details & all the hints & tips for your sweet small gratitude journal. Love it so much!!
I am so glad you enjoyed it! 😊
I’m in love with this tiny hand sized journal. I don’t do as much grunge as you but I love your precision and this use of glassine paper envelopes. Just precious.😊
I know grunge isn't for everyone, and this little hand-sized bit of fun works wonderfully well without coffee dying a single thing 😊
Just awesome, Cori! So happy you tried the leaf stitch! Such an adorable book! ❤
Thank you, you enabler you 😁 Love you and hope your weekend if full of laughter and volleyball ❤️
Thank you Cori once again for the beautiful idea. I love the idea of a gratitude journal for November. I'm always amazed at how you take the littlest pieces of scrap and make great ephemera out of them.
Using up little pieces of scraps just makes me happy. Thank you ❤

Very cute book. I am going to make something like it. TFS…..🎉❤
Wonderful! I hope you enjoy the process and thank you 😊
Something I use for bookcovers is the chipboard that is use to separate alcohol bottles. It's sturdy and I get a lot to work with.
What a super idea and a fantastic way to repurpose something. Thank you for sharing!
Watching again n again. Using coin envelopes (so it will have to be a landscape format) and Tracie’s Autumn Hues kit since there were more square n landscape rectangle bits)
So very glad you are enjoying it. Happy creating!
What a dear little journal. Love your genuine presentation - I just found you.
Thank you, Dorothy and welcome ❤
This is the perfect little gratitude journal Cori! I absolutely love it!🥰

Oh Cori!!! This adorable little book is so amazing!!! I wish I could make one just like it but my wrist surgery recovery has been so slow & it hurts me to craft. Defenitly i need t9 try to coffee.dye some emvelopes like this
It’s easy and fun!
Hi Cori, love this, you have beautiful laces. I struggle to find those glassine envelopes here in the uk, they look fab coffee dyed xx
I got them on Amazon, so maybe Amazon UK has them as well? They are 4 1/4" x 2 1/2"... not sure of the metric conversion. If you're not able to source them, please let me know and I'll happily send some to you. Thank you, Carol 😊
@@CoriDahmen thank you cori, I will look, the last time I ordered glassine envelopes from amazon they weren't glassine, but a kind of odd wax paper xx
My goodness this little Journal is totally interesting and unique, im loving it 💖 😊. Can you use clear finger nail polish on the one pieces to make them glossy?
Super idea Pat! I've never tried it but I don't know of a reason why that wouldn't work... let me know how it goes if you give it a try!

Wow Corey, BEAUTIFUL journal. Where can I find mini kit. Mini floral kit or mini tag kit?
Thank you! They are from Tracie Fox Creative/Love Junk Journals on Etsy.
What size are the glassine envelopes you purchased from Amazon? I love this idea for a gratitude book. Thank you so much for sharing.
You are very welcome and they are 4 1/4" x 2 1/2" 😊

# replay Love this mini journal May I ask what sewing machine you have?
Thank you and yes. It’s a Singer Stylist, from Amazon.

Hi Cori, What size envelope did you use? This is nicest mini gratitude journal ever and I need to make this for a Christmas present.
It really does make a fun and personal Christmas gift. I used glassine envelopes that I purchased on Amazon, then coffee dyed, in a 2 1/2" x 4 1/4" size. Thank you and happy creating!
TYVEK
Yes! Tyvek. Silly word escaped me 😊
Do you always use coffee dyed paper and those coffee dyed colours I have a lot of white 12 x12
I prefer using neutral tones in most of my makes, but the designs are easily adaptable to whatever color palettes you choose.
The name you're searching for, I think, is Tyvek.
It is, Cora. Thank you!
Wondering… do you ever work on some project and it just doesn’t turn out right and you toss it, or are you usually able to rework it?
I have tossed things (and that’s one of the reasons I love working with scraps. I can easily toss with no guilt!) but only rarely. When I dislike something I put it aside and come back in a day or two. Most of the time I figure out a way to rework or salvage it. But sometimes … into recycle it goes 😊
Tyvek
Yes! Darn word popped right out of my brain. I'm blaming the lack of coffee for the lapse 😁
Tyvek? (The envelope material)
Yes! Thank you.
