I feel the hardest challenge is finding and recognizing your own lane in this industry. That would be In my opinion. This isn't something I struggle with but can see other people finding this a roadblock forsure!
You know Steven I'm not gonna lie I was a little hesitant to watch this episode as you know I'm just getting started. However, that said, I think the information here is phenomenal. Just like in life there are many challenges it's just how you find a unique way to approach said challenge, and this is no different. Thank you again for this gem.
This was very informative for new/up and coming breeders. I have been wondering, who is buying these snakes besides just breeders? I know they are bred to be pets and meant to be sold as pets, but these snakes becoming pets is very rare from what I have seen, it's usually just breeders checking out what else everyone has and being able to see it in person or grabbing something specific that they needed for a project.tgis leads me to something import...It is very important to be friendly in this world because just like any other business, it's always good to network, and trying to not look bad when you are new like me is hard because you are going to make mistakes just like anyone else and it's nice to have a person or community to talk to when these things happen so that you are not on your own is an important aspect of not THE most key aspect of all when it comes to the ball python breeding/selling industry. I cannot wait to get my permits and begin breeding but I don't even have any breedable females yet 😂. All of my animals are still small and growing because I am seriously just a newbie who happens to be lucky enough to know a lot about these animals and always wanted to breed them...I just don't wanna over breed and be stuck with a ton of animals I can't sell and am stuck having to feed(babies eat a lot). Basically just don't over breed your animals and stay honest about your animals when selling and trading for the sake of future breeders and the market itself. I haven't met anyone who is trying to monopolize this market but there are some who are close regardless of trying and that's pure luck. If you think it's going to be easy...unless you have unlimited funds at your disposal, it's best to try and be smart. For instance, I made the mistake of buying 10 snakes with lots of genes and now I regret it because I have to feed and raise these animals until they can breed and even after they breed you have to maintain throughout gestation and incubate the eggs and hope for the best. It's like mixing the lottery with biology and Pokemon cards hahahaha😂.
Just got a couple a baby boas I hope to get into the breeding game soon. (4 years) I hope to make some sun dragons and the information has been great and encouraging thank you
