Glad you are happy with all the tools. I know you'll put them to use! Nice meeting you and your family. And to everyone wondering why I gave away tools, I have another set, these were given to me a long time ago and have just set. Thanks Doug
Zack you are a good man for passing on such a treasure. I'm sure these good people appreciate it and will put them to good use. I know I appreciate seeing generous people willing to help others.
Great find Ashley, congratulations, you can keep duplicates and still pay it forward to family and friends and even strangers like the nice man you got them from
I ended up with two toolboxes of free tools myself that were my grandfathers about to be thrown out. I was the only person to take the time to dig through them and clean the grease and rust off and sort through them to even see what they were. Turns out it paid off. I found some antiques and some very rare finds. A couple worth mentioning were a batwing style c clamp, vintage Mac breaker bar,a indexable adjustable wrench that’s patent dated 1916,a very rare Snap On ratcheting adapter for a breaker bar which is patent approved in 1923 and my style is the second version of the 4 they released. If it stamped patent pending it’s a pre 1923 and I’ll have to clean it up some more but it appears it may be. I also found a few antique snap on extensions and some old SK,Williams, bluepoint, snap on and some Chicago made stuff. Cool thing is it’s all vintage American made stuff.
Not sure what you keep. But just for further reference. Craftsman hand tools are guaranteed for life. So any that are damaged can be returned to any place that sells them and they will replace them for free no questions asked.
What a great find. Here where we live people put there junk on Craigslist for new prices. It's ridiculous. There are some people out there that are so awesome. Thanks to the tool haul dude if your watching. You blessed some great people. See ya ~ Danielle :)
We have that same problem here where everyone wants insane prices for their garbage. It's crazy. It's weird when you find a great deal on something or for free since it's so rare, haha. He was surely a great dude. Thanks Danielle. :)
Wow what a haul! The little pruning shears only need a small coil spring in-between the handles to open on their own. Some of those large wrenches and sockets can be very expensive. I was an industrial mechanic and some of my speciality wrenches were over $35 for one. You should have plenty of wrenches now! lol Phil
Yea, we are totally loaded with wrenches. We will probably just keep 2 of each size and get rid of the rest. Glad we got those pruners since we didn't have any yet, and they were made it Italy, which is neat. It was a crazy haul!
Reminds me of just a small portion of all I lost. I too have given away my whole life but to loose everything without an option to sell at least, since Ive had to replace so much it saddens me. I found out we were moving and selling my home all in 2 weeks time. I wish it never happened. I had tools appliances brand new, dishes, pans, fishing gear lawn care and tractor, my clothes, wood flooring brand new, christmas ornaments and new rose gold tree brand new and two train sets, toys, beautiful sectional couch, excellent condition, dinette set, grill, entertainment set, xbox, Nintendo, atari, games galore, towels, sheets, blankets, tons of pictures from childhood, sentimental items, huge boxes of china, bike , electric typewriter, very old but perfect condition Bianca encyclopedias with discovery books, wolf speakers car radios, on and on! All gone like it never was! Someone made money! It took 3 years to let it sink in and let it go. So I understand those who loose everything in natural disasters especially without any insurance to cover at least some of it. These tools you were blessed with went to a perfect family!
I know it’s old, but wowsa ... huge score on these tools .. Ashley’s right, hundreds if not thousand dollars worth of tools there. Restores your faith in mankind when someone can give away stuff he wasn’t using to help someone else out, even if you only ended up keeping a fraction of what he gave, it must have been a very nice addition to your tools It’s amazing your eye and ability to recognize stuff ... that thing you didn’t know what it was, but said “some kind of shaper or anvil”, you were right - it is an auto body shaper.
Be careful...check that bucket of loose nuts and bolts before you throw it out...the spring for the pruning shears might be there.you cannot use it without that spring
S C O R E! The rounded metal chunk might be a backing block for pounding out dents in sheet metal (fenders, etc). It looks like you might have at least a couple thousand $ worth of tools. I especially like the pipe wrenches that can be used for plumbing around corners! Actually, they were probably bent from putting a piece of pipe on the handle to get more leverage.
so awesome!!! I am going on my craigslist now to look around. We usually only go when looking for something but it be great to look for things to flip. By the way, Doug says that's a Bucking Bar. It's used to set rivets. You place the bar on the tail side of the rivet to shape it as the head of the rivet is being hammered.
Well done and what a nice guy..Your pruners just need a flat spring ..The steel piece that you didn't know what it was used by ,a panel beater..Some handy filter wrenches..Well done guys..
Great find!... a year ago now 😅 But not sure if you’ve realized it or if you still have it but the tool at 8:00 is used for fishing when removing the hook from the fish.
Hey Doug did you know that if you take any Craftsman tool to Sears or where ever you can find a Craftsman seller, you simply walk in with no receipt and they will exchange the old for new. I did it once just to see and I walked out with out paying anything. The beauty is, is that it comes with its original packaging which you can re sell.
Wuuuut?, Great score! (6:43) For doing body work, dents in cars. Place it behind the piece you are going to fix and tap with a hammer on the other side.
6.50 min mark, thats a dolly for panel beating dents from automobile panels, wow! ya got some goodies, that will find a use for later on when you gain more knowledge, ya never stop learning
Yes it is, I believe it's called a "dolly" (don't know why)? You place it on a panel (inside or outside?) and hammer the other side (highs and lows) till it's perfect or will have no more than 32" of plastic (bondo) applied to it.
Hey buddy how you doing today how's the family hey little guy how you doing how you spell hey how's the grumpy going to be there today and you should a lot of Tools looks like you did pretty good least you're doing a lot better than some people some people don't even get a deal but you got a lot of tools hey thanks for the peanut butter and banana sandwiches hey I'm learning how to work it it's not too bad it's pretty good you taste good are you guys have a good day and God bless you guys

I'm glad you found our channel. Thanks again for the tools, we really appreciate it!
Zack you are a good man for passing on such a treasure. I'm sure these good people appreciate it and will put them to good use. I know I appreciate seeing generous people willing to help others.
We need more folks like you who are generous. 👍 I know this family will put them to good use.
Your a super awesome guy I hope they offered you something for your kindness
Great find Ashley, congratulations, you can keep duplicates and still pay it forward to family and friends and even strangers like the nice man you got them from

6:48 That is a panelbeater’s dolly, for fixing dents in car panels.
What a blessing! Keep them dry and organized and you'll love them. A rare find and yes, he blessed you. Happy for you!
The pruner is supposed to have a heavy spring that goes over the projections. Makes them easier to use. Great haul.
Wow that's a great haul.
That thing you said was for shaping, you're exactly right. It a shaping dolly. For sheet metal work. Good luck to you.
if you were to buy all that new u got over a $1000 well done. Bit of oil and elbow grease 90% will be new again.
It's a dolly used with shrinking and planishing hammer for metal work. Especially body work.
Not sure what you keep. But just for further reference. Craftsman hand tools are guaranteed for life. So any that are damaged can be returned to any place that sells them and they will replace them for free no questions asked.
It’s a dolly for body work on cars you hold it under the dented metal and hit the dents out with a hammer
Now that you have the tractor in Mich.hopefully you kept the largest tools..might come in handy..God was looking ahead for you⭐
Great comment. I totally agree on the God comment.

Wow, you got a great haul. Anybody who works with tools dreams of a deal like this.
Great haul! And very nice to hear you plan to spread this wealth of tools. Sometimes good things happen to good people.
That heavy piece of metals for body work put that piece of metal on one side and a hammer on the next and there it is nice find
On minute 6:51 that is called a toe dolly. It is used for bodywork-- dent repair and yes shaping metal
the matal block you where wondering about is a anvil to hold against the back of a dent in a car when you plane it with a hammer
Great find! Love tools myself. Got a lot trash picking - one of my favorite things to do!
What a great find. Here where we live people put there junk on Craigslist for new prices. It's ridiculous. There are some people out there that are so awesome. Thanks to the tool haul dude if your watching. You blessed some great people. See ya ~ Danielle :)

@6:40 that's a dolly used for sheet metal and body work in conjunction with a body hammer
Ashley, thanks for the tip to shop online for free stuff. Never knew that. Awesome haul.
Reminds me of just a small portion of all I lost. I too have given away my whole life but to loose everything without an option to sell at least, since Ive had to replace so much it saddens me. That was an amazing lucky tool haul. Your wife did a good job spotting that free stuff. Now you have to lug it around on every move...lol
I know it’s old, but wowsa ... huge score on these tools .. Ashley’s right, hundreds if not thousand dollars worth of tools there. I see a tool shadow board in your future as a project.
Body dolly, helps straighten out metal, like fenders
Wow, you got at least $2000 worth of tools. Very nice!
you should check the brands because if there craftsman you can return them and get new one
so awesome!!! I am going on my craigslist now to look around. We usually only go when looking for something but it be great to look for things to flip.

It's really weird that we saw that ad on there since normally our Craigslist is dead. You never know what will pop up on there I guess. Thanks!
Think that's the biggest collection of wrenches I've ever seen.
Well done and what a nice guy..Your pruners just need a flat spring ..The steel piece that you didn't know what it was used by ,a panel beater..Some handy filter wrenches..Well done guys..
Yea, the guy who gave us the tools is awesome. Thank you. :)
the thing you did not know what it was is a toe dolly for body work to remove dents from sheet mettel.
You should try blacksmithing and make some useful knives or other items out of the broke tools. the big bolts would make a nice axe head or a hammer.
Great find!... a year ago now 😅
But not sure if you’ve realized it or if you still have it but the tool at 8:00 is used for fishing when removing the hook from the fish.

Yea, it's a super cool service they offer. We have never done it though, but we'll keep it in mind if we ever need to. :)
Somebody may already have answered. Thar odd/shaped piece of steel at 6:33 is a hand-held anvil (don't know its name, sorry) used for auto body work.
u got probably at least 1,000 dollars of tools. Just vice grip that bent tool
6:44 IT'S A DOLLY FOR fender and body repair
Of course! I wondered how they did that. A dented area would get hit with the hand held anvil behind.
Build for yourself 2 good sets of everything it will come handy.
Big wrenches are for working on big rigs and tractors
7:59 .. my dad used those to pull fish hooks out of fish.
Looks like you guys are nice couple that’s why you got blessings!

That flat curved bar you asked about is for car panel working.
Wuuuut?, Great score! (6:43) For doing body work, dents in cars. Place it behind the piece you are going to fix and tap with a hammer on the other side.
