- In this golf vlog we head out to do some thrifting for golf clubs and check out some flea markets for expensive golf clubs priced like cheap golf clubs. The day started with a few good golf bargains and some interesting thrift store finds. Along the way we find a few decent thrift store finds but none like the last epic goodwill golf find! This was probably our best goodwill find ever and some of the most expensive golf clubs we've ever found at Goodwill! What are they? Let's find out!

You all need to go back and get those sweet McGregor Persimmon Woods and the Ping Woods. I wash staff bags by putting Dawn down in them and sloshing them around. Then I wash the outsides with Dawn. Then after washing them I use a leather sneaker cleaner on the outside for stains, plus they both remove odors. I let them dry in the sun, then I spray odor remover on the inside along with Lysol. Then I use leather hand wipes that helps the leather. A little work, but I have done a many leather bag that way. When I owned my custom club shop that was one of the services I offered. Great video.

That yellow training aid is one of the best in my opinion.
Back in the 60’s-70’s, companies sold starter sets, usually, 3,5,7,9, wedge, and a three wood, Power Built was very much in that game!

For smells, use an ozone generator. It’s what car detailers and apartment complexes use to get ungodly smells out of carpet, seats, etc. That’s what I would use on those bags.

Love wilson clubs. Fatshafts were the best clubs for a budget as a beginner 👍. Worst clubs I ever owned were a set of john letters which I couldn't ever hit well. And got fitted for them so my swing changed haha 😂🤣.
P.s dont get a farm convert it to your own driving range and par 3 course 👍😊.

I gamed the Apex plus for a LONG time. Still have the F gap wedge in the bag. So solid... I miss their shininess too.

Good choice with the Wilsons. If you want to stop the golf bag from smelling....wash liberally with WD40 and, before it dries, set it alight with a match…..lol.

Mix Hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, water and orange or citrus essential oil, will take the odor out of anything.

You definitely could hit the Wilson 4 iron. The Wilson blades are the best.
My local charity was selling clubs for £1.00 each, I bought 18 clubs for £15.00 and they threw in a carry case for free.
Love your VLOGS. Try Oda-Ban to deodorize anything. Also kills staph and strep. Walmart or Sam's usually carry it at a great price.

I always thought those Ben Hogan Apex Edge must be one of the sexiest irons ever done. They look SO GOOD. I thought of buying them as a beginner but I don't know if they are easy to hit, they seem to be forged, aren't they?

Pretty sure the Spalding 3,5,7,9 was a starter set. My first golf clubs were my Dad's old Spaldings he got in the 60s.

@@StackedGolf I think the set I had came with a persimmon driver, 3 wood and 4 wood as well. It also had, I think, a TPM "Cash In" putter that was also Spalding branded.
The grips wouldn't be legal today. They had a flat area that helped square the club face to your grip.
Lots of fun rounds with those clubs in my early 20s when I was still just learning. I remember the only time I really flushed the 4 wood it cracked the head in two. But that one hit felt really good! 😂

A couple things of note. That old wooden head MacGregor driver you passed over at the beginning is an actual persimmon wood head driver. Something you were asking about awhile back. The Hogan 5W is a laminated wood however.
At one of my area Goodwills this past week I FINALLY found one of those TPM+ putters you are always raving about. I had to pass on it however because some jerk had ruined it by trying to cut the flange off the back of it with a hacksaw or some other metal cutting tool for whatever reason. They had cut into the metal about an inch and a half. Otherwise I would have gotten it and then refurbished it at home with new paint and graphics. I was thoroughly disgusted to say the least as that was the first one of those I had found. Btw, what does TPM stand for?
Finally, I found one of those diamond faced wedges you have talked about but this one was called "Perfect Spin" as opposed to "Pure Spin". But the graphics look the very same. Did one rip off the other on the design or are they from the same company but just changed the name?

@@StackedGolf that was my question also. WHY would you want to cut off the flange on the back side of the putter. Somebody must have really been bored and didn't like the putter anymore. Either way they had a slit about 1.5 inches long from the toe end towards the heel.
btw, the putter was the TPM II and said it was the Touring Pro Model on the bottom of the putter along with the name Spaulding on it. I may go back and see if they still have it. If they do I may take a closer look and see if I can do anything to repair the damage to it.
I had a tommy Armour exculpator! Pretty solid hybrid/rescue. Just got a ping I20 that replaced it but I bring it out from time to time!
My wife and I have a mini horse, I can't figure out if it's a pet or a lawn ornament.

The Tommy Armour Silver Scot 845s iron is gold. (Tip to everyone. They are in the same class as Ping eye 2 - Buy them if you find them.) The woods, well, they are more of a challenge. (Still have them in mint condition.) Only use them to punish myself. (Wouldn't pay a cent for them.) Stay away people!
Regarding the smell. Use strong vinegar bicarbonate and warm water. (Usually remove even the worst kind of smells.)

Not only do I still have my Hogan Edge Irons that I played for 10 years, I'm trying to remember if it was 81 or 82 that I bought that White Ping very heavy golf bag and thought about going old school the other day and taking it to the course ( where I work ) just to see if anyone say's something about it. That's for the old memory's when golf wasn't so hi tech
I have a Wilson Blue Ridge 1 wood and 5,7,9 irons. All have original leather grips and are in excellent condition. They are going to good will in the morning. If your dad still needs them, they are yours for the asking. They will be gone tomorrow.

Man I had a Johnny Palmer set as my first golf clubs 1 and 3 wood 3579 irons and a putter. Had the smoothest wrapped leather grips kind of strange looking back on it.

Like your video's, fun to watch. But .. after seen a couple of your vids.. where do you leave all the stuff you buy ? Do you have a barn or something as a storage facility?
Where do you sell the clubs that you find?
ph neutral leather car care cleaner with a toothbrush use gloves and a mask, for the inside if you can remove the club grid you can carpet clean or use a carpet cleaner machine, (bissel makes a cheap one)
cover the inside and pockets with baking soda after dry, vaccum off and therse still go guarantee the smell will be gone but its the most you can do. all depends on the extent of the damage
You can use vodka to remove moldy smells for clothes. It might work for the golf bags. Use cheap vodka in a spray bottle, as the vodka evaporates it takes the smells with it.

Had the 845 Silver Scot driver. Head broke off shaft, wish I still had it. Would have loved to re-shaft it since I do that now...
GW prices in CA are $7 for single clubs. You could have really cleaned up if you got that 2 MOP at the last store... Ha HA
Cat odor remedy...Spray apple cider vineger all over it... Let air dry...Then put paste of water and baking soda on for a day...Then rinse with a hose!!
