We've just ordered our first motability car for our little boy. (terminal heart disease) Gone for the new combo life 7 seater. Been told atleast 4months waiting time. Can't wait to take our boy to the seaside!!

I’ve the Leon 1.6 tdi on Motability. It’s been absolutely perfect, the only thing I have against it is that it’s quite low, so entry and exit is tricky! An ateca will probably work for me when my lease is up in June 2021. I live in a small town 25 miles away from the nearest useful hospital so I’m hoping to get a diesel version, but it’ll have to be a 1.6 as my son is under 25! I’ve the same hand controls and steering ball as well. Hope you enjoy your new car 🙂
The ateca is a good car too! But the Leon's hands down the best cars I've had, I love it! I hope you are enjoying your car too! You know if you are struggling you can tell motability and they will let you change your car early. You have to tell them how it doesn't meet your needs.
Lee Jeffrey it’s something to look into mate. I really love this car and can’t believe how good the 1.6 diesel is on fuel. My son and I juggle the driving and when I’m not able then he can earn his keep by doing some errands for us! Seat are really good value on Motability, their Volkswagen and Skoda equivalents can’t justify massive advance payments when the cars are essentially give or take, the same. Thanks for the advice mate, first timer on the scheme after being a cabbie through my 20s 30s and 40s!

They have extended all current leases for 6 months (I think). I'm not 100% and I'm sorry but I think you are just going to have to wait for your new car, given the situation at the moment.

Mine took around 2 to 3 months but I had it built from factory... because they had none in the colour I wanted in stock waiting.... so it can be faster sometimes and I think it depends on the manufacturer you're going for. Also I think it's there's a good chance it might take a little longer, given the lockdown we've been in. I bet you can't wait to get your car... I know the wait is hard.... especially when it's your first! Enjoy it!
I ordered mine in February then in July I went to collect the car I found out the dealer ordered me a wrong vehicle what a shame then I had to run around calling Motability scheme asking to cancel the application and find another dealer I eventually ordered the vehicle with another dealer collection day was set for 14/November Boris imposed another lockdown then I contacted the supplying dealer she said we are looking for the hand over at the end of December ,how lucky I am really
Wow! I'm so sorry... I'd be so pissed off! Something similar happened to me with my 3rd car I ordered it in a limited edition colour... everything went through fine. I waited for the two months for it to be built. As it got nearer the time I hadn't heard anything from the dealer the whole way few it was less then a week away from collection. As I remember I called the dealer to see what was going on and what day I could get my car to be told that the stopped the order, the colour i wanted was no longer available on motability.. right here is where I made me second mistake by reordering the same model car with the same dealer in a different colour. Alfa Romeo Mito worst car, worst customer service and care I have experienced in my driving career.
@@JustRollinThruLife Thanks for your reply, I know mate how some of these stupid dealers treating their customers I was pissed off too with the previous dealer and he made me more piss off to say nothing has been wrong with this vehicle just take this and return it in 3 years and get another one I told him listen when you are dinning out if you are asking for steak then half an hour later waiter turn up with chicken and chips what you gonna do eating your chicken and chips because next time when you are dining out again can have steak instead then I just lose it I call up the Motability and put them on the phone to cancel the application, Even with my second order when ever I call the person who is dealing with my order she never come to the phone to talk she just playing hide and seek with me always someone else in there asking me to leave the message we will pass it on to her or she will call you back which most of the time she doesn't then I have to take other path email ETC to get an response, I usually place my orders in London but this time I went faraway to Surrey I thought dealers up there might have some heart but I have figured out I am just dealing with the same animals whom seeing customers as the £ sign mate !
You don't seem to have had the best of luck my friend... I promise you a lot of good ones are out there. But I have had a few experiences of dealer being totally disinterested in in affect selling me on their cars I've been interested in... to which it put me off and I totally switch off, say cya and leave.
@@JustRollinThruLife You are right my friend , Next time I have to do more researches' about the dealer whom I am going to deal with , by ordering me a wrong vehicle he made me waiting for 5 months then I had to pay £500 more advance payments for the same make because Motability changing the price every 3 months.
So they have a choice of colours that you can pick from... Quite a range to choose from, but some specific finishes aren't aren't on the motability scheme... Every manufacture is different but there has always been a decent amount of choice.

I ordered mine I was couple weeks away for the collection corona hits the uk dealer shut down I don't know what's gonna happen now
