- Focus fully on your practice sessions, avoiding distractions. Be present and attentive to the sound, feeling, and technique of your playing. Mindful practice leads to more effective learning and progress.
- Before diving into your practice session, warm up your fingers and hands with simple exercises like scales, arpeggios, and finger stretches. This helps prevent injury and improves dexterity.
- Use a recording device or a smartphone to record yourself playing. Listening back to your recordings can provide valuable feedback on areas for improvement, such as timing, dynamics, and expression.

You can start with this and gradually learn the full thing
If you don't practice the easy stuff, you won't have fun, and you won't learn learn learn!
if you feel bad then .. try the 3rd movement :)

Its taken me three days for about 30 minutes per session, but I learned this as my first ever piano song. I know its the easy version but I am proud and it was fun 🙂

I’m a beginner. I just found a beautiful Hamilton Baldwin upright piano for free on Facebook market. I had never touched a piano before. I’ve always wanted to learn how to play because of this song specifically. It was a little tricky at first but I’ve been practicing every day for about 30 minutes for the past two weeks and I feel so fufilled now that I have learned it. Thank you!!! I’ve been teaching myself piano for about 6 weeks now. I love moonlight sonata but I knew I wasn’t ready to fully jump in. This was a great way to test waters and build myself as a pianist. I was hoping to learn the simplified version and then work in little bits as I go until I learned it correctly. Well I can play this segment pretty proficiently now. So I decided to start taking a stab at the original. I was pretty upset to find the original is in a different key. Making all this muscle memory not worth it. If anything it’s going to work against me learning it wrong first. Otherwise this was the perfect beginner tutorial. Definitely wish it transferred tho because now I’ll have to relearn it.
