Thank you for a longer video, Jarrett, I enjoyed it very much. Class 11 is such an awesome class and would be fun competing in it. Car 1121 was giving you guys a run for your money, but when he went high in the on turn, I was like it's a perfect time to pass them . Thats a shame your transmission lost second gear and I think that the last lap for you and car 1121 would have been awesome. Take care sir and I will catch you guys on your next video. Dave
I went to Baja last November for the 1000, and Class 11 is my favorite class. There is some hilarious technology that goes into Class 11- for example, there is a maximum eye-to-eye length for the rear shock absorbers...so they run a MUCH longer shock than that eye-to-eye measurement, and put the upper shock mounting eye about half way down the SIDE of the shock body, instead of on the end of the shock body.
This made me miss my Baja Bug. They are so much fun. From the get go sounded like you where having transmission problems or he wasn't down shifting fast enough.Now we know it was the tranny.The go pro was picking up the motor sound real well. every time you hit the hill I was saying down shift keep those rpms up to keep the bug moving. But you just heard the motor lug. You also could hear when you jumped to, you hit hard. Great video. add a couple more cams on the outside next time.
Yeah I will definitely add more cameras next time! I showed up totally underprepared to film a race, but that’s probably because this was my first race! We also had a stock motor that was a bit tired, so we lost a lot of our competitors on the climbs. Josh was able to swap the transmission and have the car ready for the night race that same day. These cars are amazing!
