Easy answer: they wanna be on these hilarious videos. If I were titled and played Aman, I’d never ever resign either, hoping for an epic mate in 400. Why resign when you can get mated in epic fashion? I’m with the “never resign” crowd!
Aman, seeing as you directly referred to me in the into as a former opponent of yours, I feel obligated to point out the great hypocrisy of you GM Hambleton. When I watched your Building Habits series, I was explicitly told by YOU to not resign. Now you sit here and tell me I need to learn to resign? You will rue the day you applied these double standards to me and the millions, possibly billions, of others just so you can get free wins and easy elo. I have seen you stalemate plenty of games over the years. I am officially cancelling you GM Hambleton. You are cancelled and I, along with hundreds of my friends, will be unsubscribing in 24 hours unless a public apology is made.
it depends on the level. don't resign is a principle that applies between weak players where everything can always happen. if you're down a queen against a grandmaster you should resign
@@endgamestrategies3121 Sure. But I have many wins over Aman, our overall record is about equal. We are basically the same strength. This is why I have decided to cancel him.
No, I am not a strong player, but strong enough to win against my brother-in-law, when I manage to get a piece from him. But he also won't resign, even though I won like 296 out of 300 games against him 😂.
Oh, an IM give up the queen like a 🤡 for nothing, then continues to play a few hundred moves hoping to flag you: I also noticed that engines dont resign... so 🦈 on the line
Because chess is a game that is perpetuated by the discourse of two players until the problem is resolved, and just as your opponent is refusing to die, you are refusing to kill them.
I just want to point out gukesh kept playing a +7.5 position against ding in their 12th WCC match. he only resigned when his position was so bad computer was suggesting checkmates instead of +10 or...
One of the maximum of 14 classical chess rounds, which would put him 1 point(in case of draw swindle) away from winning the most important title for any top level chess player vs random, meaningless, online rapid game. Jeez i wonder why Gukesh kept playing.
Aman, just because your opponent wants to play silly games and not resign, doesn't mean you have to indulge him and play on. Just checkmate him and be done with it. Otherwise you are both wasting time. Except of course for your brilliant reset mate you did a while ago. That was epic!
@SaiphxXx It makes sense to not resign and hope for a stalemate or slip-up. The premise of the video doesn't make sense. If you refuse to take mate, don't be surprised when your opponent doesn't resign.
@@TheBcoolGuy Dude the opponent should already have resigned 10 moves ago. Black already had several forced mates like at 12:57 or 13:17. Maybe stalemate tricks work at your level but against a GM it's just disrespectful. Besides that square is named g2 not b7.
@@SaiphxXx He has every right to try. Clearly, those forced mates didn't take thanks to his strategy. If he has any chance to change the outcome of the game and he finds it worth his time, why wouldn't he make use of his right to try? It's possible to be great in general, but terrible at mates. The opponent challenged chessbrah to mate him and chessbrah didn't meet his challenge. The reason doesn't matter. Expecting people to resign once a game is pretty much lost and mocking those who don't is incredibly narcissistic and stuck-up. To think he's wasting your precious time like you're of some higher class of being. Alright, you diva! LOL

I mean I understand that when someone is losing like this, especially after a botez gambit like that they should stop wasting time but the thing is they're still playing according to the rules and they're wasting their own time. I might be wrong here and I'm up for more opinions but the winning condition to a game of chess is to checkmate your opponent. Flagging is also a winning condition but in all of these non-resigning videos it was way faster for you to play according to the rules. I get the principle that you mean but would it be safe to do something like this OTB? I'm legitimely asking, please don't destroy me in the comment section.
These are all good questions, but they apply to both sides. Why does Aman keep playing if he has mate in 1? What does he accomplish by doing so? It is hilarious for him that people want to play on, whereas he himself also does want to play on. Looks like mocking other people for the thing he is doing himself at the same time. Not hating, the video is funny, I just don't understand the attitude.
