I make my own cushion foundations too! I mix multiple foundations depending on my needs at the time. Cushion compacts work great for travel too, especially for flying, since they are nor considered a liquid.

Wow. I never realized I could make my own cushion foundation! I also love my Catrice HD. I can golf 18 holes, in the heat, and it still looks good when I get home.
I truly miss the discontinued cushion foundation from Wet and Wild. It was highly celebrated by most in the beauty community. The packaging was cutesie, maybe that had something to do with it?🤷🏼♀️

I love the Tir Tir. I’ve found that you need to but a thin layer of Aquafor on as a base to keep it smooth looking.
I’m allergic to some of the ingredients so I wonder if I could use a little Vaseline or jojoba oil instead
@@TheSofres I’m allergic to everything accept Korean products for some reason. So I use the cosrx muccin and their 50 sun cream as a base. That makes a good base with out the clogged pores and contact dermo 😂
Big fan of cushion foundation. Tried alot of different ones, and the tirtir oxidizes too much for me (at least 2 shades darker by mid day). It is always difficult to find a good match so I can see the value of putting your own foundation in a empty cushion. I havent had great luck of doing that either but maybe just need to keep trying,

A couple of years ago you told us about that compact cushion. I ended up buying it and use it all the time! I love mixing a couple different foundations in it.

Most people use the cushion incorrectly. They really press the cushion much too hard and get way too much on it and then press it too aggressively on the face. A very light tap on the cushion and a very light tap on the face. It is meant to be sheer and skin like. It can be buildable if you want a more dense foundation. Too much though can end up creasing in places.
I used the cushion foundation from Mally a few years ago and really liked it. The issue the was cost and the fact that there just wasn’t much product in the packaging so I went through it way too fast for the price.

What a great video. I am so going to purchase the empty cushion case and sponge and make my own. I can't wait to try it. Love your eye look too. I am middle aged and always say that a little shimmer or pearl on the eyelids really is so youthful and reflects light really well.

Years ago (MANY years ago), I úsed to wear the Max Factor Whipped Creme cushion formula. They only made it for a few years, and I stopped looking for a substitute as O developed rosacea and thought the foundation might have been a contributing cause for redness and rough patches. I remember the Max Factor was pretty heavily fragranced, so maybe this was the problem. But I have so many base-type products going right now, I'll probably wait until fall/winter to explore other formulas. Thanks for the video anyway! It's always good to see you looking so good!

I have not tried it yet. I just purchased the Polite Society "More Than A Pretty Face Foundation", and I absolutely love it. My skin looks amazing, and it has no comedogenic ingredients. Their mascara is also so beautiful on my lashes! Have a great weekend. XO's

I tried the TirTir a few days ago and did not like it. I watched multiple TH-cam videos on the application process so that wasn't an issue for me. It oxidized on me quickly and I found it just too dewy looking for me. I returned it. I will, however, try making my own cushion foundation which I never knew could be done.

I tried three different times to use the Catrice and it just does not work for me. It is splotchy on my face no matter what I use under it or if I use a brush or sponge. I love the TirTir and Smashbox. I enjoyed your video.

This was very interesting! I have ordered the TirTir cushion via YesStyle, but it’s taking forever with delivery. However, I really enjoyed seeing how you deconstructed how cushions work and making your own. I do wonder why the cushion compact you bought didn’t come with the sponge and puff. Seems like it should have been a little kit with all three parts.
I really miss the Dior cushion foundation. I really want a cushion foundation that has spf 50. I may try the Tir Tir or make my own

I've never tried a cushion foundation but I'm wondering if it might be a way around the TSA rule regarding liquids in carry-on. Or a way of traveling with favorite foundations such as the Haus Labs that are not in travel friendly containers.
You are allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes through the checkpoint. These are limited to 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item.

Yeah...I don't understand the hype around the tirtir. I tried it and it looked horrible: too heavy, patchy, flakey and creasy. I like the Amuse cushions, instead. Very sheer, dewy, undetectable coverage. Too Cool for School is a close second.

The Tirtir formula is incredibly good. Just a shame the undertones are luminous yellow, even the cool ones
There’s a method on applying the Tirtir foundation. A small amount goes a long way. Use a toner before applying.

TirTir did not work
For me. It was patchy and didn’t absorb into my skin. Worst foundation I ever tried. I use Maybelline and Loreal True Match skin tint. Both work great for me❤️
The Tir Tir was horrible on me. It settled in and emphasized my pores.

They put diff formulations into certain packaging for a reason. So just be careful. It may change the chemical structure of the product. But PLZ DO NOT do this with sunscreens! Leave them in the package.
