Also when i started following the clubs there wasnt much social media n things so muddled so u read about them in newspapers separately n appreciated each league as it's own entity

While madrid was always favoured, Barcelona was suppressed but they still fought neck to neck with madrid. Without all of that madrid and barca would have been really close in trophies and history. Besides Barcelona gave a lot more to football than madrid imo, ofc madrid focused only on somehow winning, but Barcaelona did it with a unique style, made tiki taka and total football, popular in the whole world.
