@@anupraj18 tbh asian rallies are a lot more fast paced and there are occasional ones which are absolutely ethereal but in general they finish a lot faster.
It wasn't nuts at all.Boll has little pace in his shots compared to the Chinese players.
@@dickn.ormous1064 I played against Boll for a set at Düsseldorf academy in 2010. Pace isn't everything, he has incredible timing, quality of shots and great placement.
@@Keepcalm-lovesports Against non-pro's of course he seems like a God but his style is not so efficient.
For a lefty his placement isn't so great either.He kinda lacks the wide angles.
Playing heavy spin from near the table is counter intuitive.He twists his torso to the side to lift the ball which is why he is always injured.Spin without pace works only as a change-up.

The problem with TT is that it is hard to play decently good. Without getting to a certain level, a player won't get much a workout out of playing TT. Badminton is the easiest for beginners and tennis is hard too but the players have to run more and picking up balls.
People think it is not tiring. But back in college when we used to do 3-4 hour practice sessions for inter-state tournaments, you get squeezed like a towel gets squeezed by a wrestling champion. Every drop of sweat gets wrung out of you. Exhausting when it is competitive TT. Those topspin drives need serious stamina to do them a dozen or more times each rally. Very quickly one loses stamina and starts making mistakes.
Back in the 50s, when there was no "rubber" deciding the pace of TT, some matches went into multiple days with rallies going into hours.
@@benthekeeshond545 I'm only an upper intermediate level player at my local tt club, maybe lvl 750, idk honestly. But when I play people at my level or higher, I try my hardest. I bend my knees, swing with lots of top loop spin and use a lot of leg work doing laterals (side to side). So I try my hardest. So I'd say it's a great workout for those who choose to try.
@@lord9562 yeah, it's not as easy as it may look on TH-cam. In reality to be good and to play tournaments, you need to be athletic.
Even at club level playing for fun, those who are relying only on wit and skill alone Can't beat a much more in shape player with excellent foot work of the same skill lvl. *Especially if you're playing best of 5 matches and playing for 3 to 4 hours.
Johnny Yes but some do just have amazing talent so that they don’t need the footwork in the beginning but at a certain level they won’t win anymore
