I can impersonate his voice . When I'm at parties doing voices people ask me to do Doctor Demento...they all start laughing whistling and cheering on...

This guy is the guy. WHAT A GIANT. I listened to DR D in my formative years... He introduced me to my first musical influence - Weird Al. Weird Al was the reason I wanted to become a musician.

Loyal Dementoid from WAAAAY back! Half of my eclectic musical education comes from this man; I listened to Dr. Demento's show beginning in my mid-teens during the 1970s, on a radio station in my hometown of Lafayette, LA (either KVOL-FM or KSMB-FM). From then on I listened to him on any station carrying his show that I could bring in on a radio wherever I lived, taping it every week until it finally went off the air.
That corporate radio no longer has space for a show like his is a scandal to the jaybirds...but at least he's still making it, and we can still listen via his website. And the music he did so much to help promote is now all over the Internet, including right here on TH-cam, so we no longer have to depend on that two hours of "mad music and crazy comedy" once a week to hear or learn about it. Thank all the gods of music he is still with us and still going strong; may he continue for a great many more years to come. STAY DEMENTED!!!
