this is one of the best things ive seen on youtube. not an impossible task for any experienced operator in theory but very few would have the balls to do it. RESPECT!
:D love the expression on his face while climbing... like "yeah.. whatever.. wonder whats for dinner".. absolutely uninterested, almost as if he was bored with the number :D
Wow..Never knew they could do this stunt o.O Id agree, Driver here sure has confidence! One fall especially in a machine that heavy wouldn't turn out good! Takes a lot of precision!
Wetten Das means something like Wanna Bet? It features people betting that they can do all kinds of seemingly impossible things. The power of these machines never ceases to amaze me. Lifting itself in the air as if it's nothing...
While FoxRacing63086 may sound arrogant, he is right...any good operator should be able to pull it off with practice. You'll notice the bucket arm has a special attachment built specifically to lock into the tower, and there are hooks on the front of the track body that catch rails on the tower when the machine is on it's tracks. It's simply showing the strength of the machine's construction and the power of the hydraulics on it.
pretty cool...nothing special though....there were a set of grapples between the tracks holding the machine in place.....still pretty cool...i wonder how much the tower cost??
and here I thought that the demonstration was all about the tower, that allows the excavator to climb. lol Now I feel like a nitwit! Still it was an amazing demonstration and excavator operator! But, they didn't just build that tower for the demonstration did they? Is there a need for climbing excavators?
@Xantec He rates right up there (pun intended) with Ali Farokhmanesh, the Northern Iowa guard whose 1-on-3 three-pointer during the NCAA tournament plunged a dagger into the heart of the Kansas Jayhawks. One of my bosses told me about this video; it was even better than he described it! The poise and skill of this machine operator is awesome, and the demonstration surely has sold a lot of excavators (but maybe not too many towers?).
one hell of a stunt driver lol.. i wonder what made him decide to do this and how it went the first couple of tries.... obviously not too bad if hes doin it again
the point was to win a bet. it's from a german live tv show called "wetten dass?" (Wanna Bet..?). Individuals try to fulfill their bet in a given amount of time, which is set by the tv show. they also compete for the votes of the viewers who decide which of the individual different bets wins the show and takes home the prize money. the show easily attracts 50% and more of all German speaking viewers.
@paulusmagirl Just a demonstration of how strong the working arm and hydraulics are. The materials that make up the working arm and the hydraulic cylinders have to be strong to pick up probably 5+ times their weight. I doubt I'd try that on the same machine that's been used on a construction site for 5+ years, but the point is made.
Google copyright free music you don't get in trouble then. Freesound even has some music but Jamendo is probably more popular of the ones I can think of right now.
@73Shakes they are going to start making buildings excavator accessible, too many have been complaining. This was demonstration on how hard it is for a man to get to the top of a building with current system they have in place. They must invent an elevator system! and give them the respect tey deserve, hey hey ho ho excavator discrimination has got to go :-) I'm an idiot its a demo reel excavator style lol I do wonder what the real purpose of this would be.
@1958wvpicker yeah you're right! i watched a documentary on tv about a hydraulic press that can apply so much force as if an aircraft carrier is lying on it!!!
did you see what i saw? umm yea an 80,000 pound excavator hangin off the top of a tower. also there was a smart person standing underneath it just for good measure lol
@Bigwill6363 no but they recently went through and did a clean out of music that wasnt bought.. no free music lol but this is the crap we get stuck with over and over again!!!
For those complaining about the music - theres volume control on the video -_- However I agree the music is shite.. One more song that won't be going on the aul iPod. As for the video... That is absolutely mental haha took me ages to see the hook that was keeping it up instead of miraculously balancing when the hydraulic was moving to the next ridge n i was like.. how the hell is that balancing... The tower must be bloody strong to hold that thing though... Strong hydraulics too...
Every time I watch this video I can't help but marvel at how calm the operator looks. Man has ice-water running through his veins. Excellent operator!
this is one of the best things ive seen on youtube. not an impossible task for any experienced operator in theory but very few would have the balls to do it. RESPECT!
This is a spectacular excavator and an excellent operator.
Brilliant, what courage and faith the operator had in that machine!!
:D love the expression on his face while climbing... like "yeah.. whatever.. wonder whats for dinner".. absolutely uninterested, almost as if he was bored with the number :D
this is a cool song too mate. makes the suspense and excitement i think
The guy that designed and welded up th tower is my hero!
Not an accident, but a demonstration of Fantastic machine control. Very cool.
Yeahhh! That's my jam! Haven't heard this song in a minute.
Good Lord! I think that's what Liebherr means anyway, right?
What a piece of engineering. They don't call them Germans for nothing! Brilliant!
i think i will keep mine on the ground, crazy stuff but brilliant ! hats off to you man !
that's wild, I was surprised to see that it didn't fall, this guy is the man; unbeliveable
wooo so cool !!
the movies is excellent, thanks you ★★★★★
Wow..Never knew they could do this stunt o.O Id agree, Driver here sure has confidence! One fall especially in a machine that heavy wouldn't turn out good! Takes a lot of precision!
Power; precision; concentration- wow!
Wetten Das means something like Wanna Bet? It features people betting that they can do all kinds of seemingly impossible things.
The power of these machines never ceases to amaze me. Lifting itself in the air as if it's nothing...
the driver of this has balls, seriously big balls, and just a little bit of skill!
Wow, what a cool video. Jacksonville Metal Recycling shure could use one of those
That dipper has had some serious strenthening, driver has some balls aswell
Красивая рекламная компания! Понравилось!
This guy has some serious balls!! :D AWESOME!
While FoxRacing63086 may sound arrogant, he is right...any good operator should be able to pull it off with practice.

i am glad to see it bacause my father make some components for this machines.
How true..and also strong welds, tight hose connections, and a good Company Insurance Policy!!!!
(or Health Plan at least..LOL)
The TH-cam soundtrack!!!!! YESSSS!!!!
That is pretty amazing!
what pratical use would this have? great vid.
Cracking video. How tall is the tower?
and here I thought that the demonstration was all
about the tower, that allows the excavator to climb.
lol Now I feel like a nitwit! Still it was an amazing
demonstration and excavator operator! But, they
didn't just build that tower for the demonstration
did they? Is there a need for climbing excavators?
That is some crazy shit!! Wow!! What would
this be good for though? Getting it on top of
a high building?
I still love this song.
with the way its set up it seems like its made to go up but not down. unless theres an extra set of those little tire rack type things.
@Xantec He rates right up there (pun intended) with Ali Farokhmanesh, the Northern Iowa guard whose 1-on-3 three-pointer during the NCAA tournament plunged a dagger into the heart of the Kansas Jayhawks. That is impressive... I don't think I would have stood below it with a microphone though! LOL!
Holy. Crap.
That was amazing.
What date did that happen, was it this year?
Thanks for posting.
Wow, totaly insane...
what music is it? btw the video is great ! 5/5 + fav
one hell of a stunt driver lol.. i wonder what made him decide to do this and how it went the first couple of tries.... obviously not too bad if hes doin it again
I would like to know how much that very skilled operator gets paid!!
incredible skilled operator
that was sick, but how does that thing not slide back and fall at that angle and only about 1/4 of the tracks on the rails.

first comment in 5 years
it's a scene from the german show "wetten, dass...?" it's awesome
Very impressive ...
wat is the purpose of this ? and how is it staying on that rig wen it disconnects.......there is barely any track resting on those notches ?
It really isn't pointless they will sell alot of machines by doing this.very smart selling strategy .
That was cool
thats what you would call BALLS OF STEEL way to go
Well worth the money my bet.
Love it!
lol me and my dad love this
Very skilled
Dam cool!
awesome !
I'm OK with how he got up there. How does he get down?
Google copyright free music you don't get in trouble then. Freesound even has some music but Jamendo is probably more popular of the ones I can think of right now.
operator has more faith in lumps of metal than i have
im utterly amazed
7:07 excavator hiphop, epic style '~'
F*ing beautiful !
Thanks for sharing :)

@bezerk47 It was in Berlin and the event was a German TV show called Wetten Dass
Wow Cool Good XD ......
driver has steel balls
changing my hitachi for a liebherr! surprised it can lift this guys balls of the ground! anyone know who he is ?
I said: He must perspired :)
This is so old..... modern day hydraulics do not have that nasty oscillations. Still amazing feat !
this is cool but DANGEROUS....
SWEET! but what is it the the europeans and their techno music?
the power of hydrolics is unreal
wonderful
now thats cool
@1958wvpicker
yeah you're right! i watched a documentary on tv about a hydraulic press that can apply so much force as if an aircraft carrier is lying on it!!!

Just respect.

what about current song now, who is the artist ?
think pirtek would come out to him up there??
@Bigwill6363 no but they recently went through and did a clean out of music that wasnt bought.. no free music lol but this is the crap we get stuck with over and over again!!!
How about the reporter standing directly underneath? Not too shabby there either.
6:17 bad place to be stading
Awesome promo is awesome?
the guy driving is nice and all... but the reporter getting under it??? man i would be a safe distance watching it..

@TheDennisZb kaput my guess, but its the representation of its integrity as a machine.
