    I think the real problem is cam Sutton he’s been out of place on almost every touchdown the last three games maybe the suspension affected him more than we thought because he hasn’t been now where near as productive as he usually is in this system.

    Screw all of this. We went into the shortest stretch with a ton of guys missing. The bottom line is that I can live with a splash play from any offense when it is defended properly. When you get burned by ten yards every time, that is a problem. That needs to be fixed. Moreover, when you expect Russel to save the game without his weapons, call that a good night with a Steelers loss.

    I might be a dummy but if a team is having trust issues this late in the season, that might be a problem. Hopefully they can fix that.
    I think they can start by protecting the ball and full stop on all the unforced errors. The turnovers have crushed us.

    Gotta love how you put everything on Russell Wilson‘s back on the offensive issues when the offensive line has been graded as one of the worst offensive lines over the last month in the NFL the only one grading at or above level is their center. How about we count for horrible coaching and clock management and also take account for yeah it’s just an average too good football team needs a lot more than Russell Wilson to carry it. Justin Fields definitely isn’t that answer either.

      @klove5765 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @mike2687 You almost have to think Tomlin isn't trying sometimes, look how long Loudermilk gets to be on the team, he's bad at run stopping and has 1 sack in his 4 yr career, most coaches would've moved on to other prospects

    • @mike2687
      @mike2687 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ - I’ve made similar arguments in the past, in that, Tomlin is sluggishly slow to make moves… Canada was a bad hire but it was even worse to keep him requiring a midseason firing because the fans were chanting for it.
      Not that KP was the answer, but it just goes to show how his slow decision making makes Pittsburgh a bad spot for a young QB to land. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Jones thrives on the left side just as Dotson’s game vastly improved by moving back to his natural spot.
      Look at Mason-also probably not the answer-but he was the best QB for the team. Now I understand going with the draft pick in an attempt to develop him but he should’ve been no worse than QB2… instead, it was Mitch until a couple minutes remaining in a 2 score game… make that change before the game or even at the half and they have a chance to win.
      There’s really too many examples to choose from.
      As far as not trying-I sometimes think he finds value in keeping a loss from being a blowout-punting when down multiple scores late in the game because the Ravens might get in the 40s with a short field… sure, the Steelers don’t have the ideal personnel to play man to man but don’t admit that Kelce is a zone killer and play zone so much-I think Tomlin finds value in giving up long scoring drives rather than the potential quick strike keeping KC under 30.
      In short, he seems to take the approach of playing not to lose rather than playing to win… and often plays for the aesthetics rather than the truth.
      Last example of this-KP obviously needed more development to be a franchise QB but Tomlin only had him throw something like 4-7 throws per preseason game (far less than JF got this year). But he looked really good, especially against the Bills… but it was fool’s gold in a very small sample size. Playing for a half of a preseason game could’ve risked spoiling the positive optics of how KP looked.
      I could go on tangent rants all day about this-so I’ll stop!

    • @destanicollins6303
      @destanicollins6303 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @williamelliott778 In my opinion, no. The Jets defense was still one of the best in the league when they faced them, and our defense did not play well against the giants. He played great to help secure that win. That's with us getting two TDs called back too, game shouldn't have been close.
      He was not a big turnover guy over the past three seasons, so it's surprising to see it happening now. Before this skid, we were a top 10 offense, too. I think these next two games will be more definitive.

    • @williamelliott778
      @williamelliott778 22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@destanicollins6303 I think those are good points and I also think he played well against those teams. What concerns me is not the turnovers agree, he has not in the past had a history of turnovers. What concerns me is his reliance on the deep ball and inability to really master the short game a key tool in todays NFL. Teams can game plan out the deep ball and have against the likes of Mahomes even before he lost all his receivers even Burrow does not live the the deep ball in part because of their lines. Also, it seems to me once QBs get older they no longer want to be hit, I see this in Russ. Very bad at moving in the pocket and seems unnerved. We saw this in Ben, see it in Rogers now, and even saw that in Brady in the last year among others. Just too many hits over time. He can run some, but if we are going to live on someone fleeing the pocket we have better options. But for me this is about committing to a guy for the next three years, not if he is the best option today. I would also argue that if you go back and watch the film, many of his deep balls, though completed have been under thrown, and could have been touch downs or longer gains. Watch this. Also, he does not seem to have a heater anymore, only lofted balls. All Fields has is a heater, he needs to watch Wilson and develop touch. But it is also a problem not to have a heater. Not being definitiive on this, but there is enough if looked at closely which would suggest might be a mistake. I would ask, what do you think is more likely, next year Russ, another year older with additional hits, is better than this year, the same as this year, or worse? And what we have learned from the last three games, we would need him to be better. So, if he has peeked, might be better to a least give someone else chance who presents a higher ceiling, whoever that is before locking yourself into not quite good enough and quite possible on the decline. In answering, consider his last four years not just the touchdown to interception ratio but how he got there and his problems with staying in the pocket and manipulating it, using the middle of the field, having gas on his throws, seemingly unwillingness to take hits in the pocket. These are not things that just show up over the last three games. Also, look at all his games this year and how many has he thrown for more than 250. Just signs for concern could be wrong. He has two more games at least to show that he can be more. He will face two struggling teams, he needs to show well.

    • @destanicollins6303
      @destanicollins6303 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @williamelliott778 I think your concerns and observations are valid and good. I like Russ to be the guy until they find the next true franchise QB. That vet to rookie transition is still the best way to go in my opinion.
      There's not going to be many options in this upcoming free agency, and draft.

    Steelers are 🗑️ every year is the same! Somewhere in the WC if they even make the playoffs. Then get their doors blown off in the first playoff game. Tomlin can’t figure out offense. Nothing will change. They overpay for defensive players like Patrick Queen to try and compensate for it. Hung on to Big Ben 3-4 years too long and haven’t found an answer since. It would be so Pittsburgh to give Wilson an extension and continue the irrelevance…

      Russ is going to cost $40M anyway, with incentives that allow him to be paid like a younger superstar QB (e.g., Jared Goff) if he plays like one and duplicates the results of those QBs.
      Daniel Jones wasn’t nearly as good as Russ is this year, three-game slide notwithstanding, and got $40M.
