  • We are proud to announce that Eng Japhet Koome Nchebere, the current Inspector General of the National Police Service, is an Old Boy of Kagumo High School. As a student at Kagumo, Eng Koome developed a passion for police work and visited the Kenya Police College twice a week as part of the Kenya Police Cadet Cops program.
After graduating from the University of Nairobi with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Eng Koome joined the police force in 1991 and was first posted as a constable in Nairobi. He was eventually promoted to Inspector of Police and served in various leadership positions, including as the Nairobi police boss and the Commandant of the National Police College Main Campus-Kiganjo.
Prior to his appointment as Inspector General, Eng Koome was known for dealing ruthlessly with criminal gangs and bank robbers in Nairobi. We congratulate Eng Koome on his new role and look forward to seeing the positive impact he will have on the police force. Go Kagumo High School and Go Eng Koome!
