China vs USA: A Battle for Africa's Future

The Jackson Institute for Global Affairs hosted the discussion, “China vs USA: A Battle for Africa's Future,” featuring Jackson Senior Fellow Colin Coleman. Eddie Mandhry, Director for Africa and the Middle East, Office of International Affairs at Yale was the moderator. Topics addressed included: the African economy: opportunities and threats; China’s strategy and progress in Africa; US government and multinationals’ interest; and Africa’s future: prospects for modernizing governance and liberating economic growth.
A former partner of Goldman Sachs, Coleman was Chief Executive Officer, Sub Saharan Africa, Goldman Sachs up until his retirement at the end of 2019.
