- Hey, Today, we are unboxing our first Personal Laminar Air Purifier from Air Fanta. The Air Fanta 4 Lite is an air purifier you should include in your daily life. General air purifiers are designed to clean all of the air in an enclosed indoor space through air mixing. In contrast, laminar air purifiers are designed to deliver a steady flow of clean air directly to your face.

⎯⎯ Key points on Laminar Air Purifiers:
1- Laminar air purifiers are designed to provide a clean air flow directly to the user's face 30cm/12 inches away
2- According to tests of two laminar air purifiers, there is a 97.3% to 97.9% reduction of 0.3nm particles 30cm/12 inches away
3- The results in point 2 are equivalent to about an exposure reduction factor (ERF) of 36. For reference, the ERF of a fit-tested N95 respirator is 100
4- Similar to general air purifiers, laminar air purifiers use HEPA filters that need to be changed when they become dirty, otherwise they will become less effective
5- Reputable laminar air purifiers currently available on the market are equipped with a battery that can last for 5 - 24 hours at the lowest speed
6- You will probably need a backpack to bring along a laminar air purifier with you, as they weigh between 1.5kg and 2.5kg
⎯⎯ How to use a Laminar Air Purifier
1- The laminar air purifier should be positioned directly in front of your face at a distance no further than 30cm/12 inches away
2- Some laminar air purifiers may have multiple speed settings, but it is strongly recommended to use the lowest speed setting
3- By using the lowest speed setting, the laminar air purifier is able to deliver a laminar flow of clean air with particles moving in a straight line
4- That way, potentially infectious/dirty particles from surrounding air will be less entrained in the laminar flow of clean air that is delivered to your face
5- You are recommended not to use a laminar air purifier close to a general air purifier, fan, vent, or gasper (essentially anything that mixes the air in the room) because it may disrupt the laminar flow
6- You can use a laminar air purifier in a room that has a general air purifier, but you should stay far away from it as much as possible

I bought one of these recently and took it with me on a business trip to Florida. You really do need a backpack to carry it in, but it will fit under the seat in front of you until you are ready to use it. It worked great, especially when I needed to take off my mask to eat and drink. I'm glad to have it for future trips and maybe also for local restaurants.
Yes it’s big enough to need a bag and can see it being super useful when travelling .

I'm curious to know how heavy it is (I think 1.3kg?) and how heavy it feels if you carried it around in a backpack all day!
I'm not at home at the moment as I would weigh the device, but according to the Amazon listing, it's 5 lbs (2.2 kg).

Sounds pretty heavy to include it in your day pack to have the option of an extra mitigation if you couldn't find anywhere safe and open air to eat a meal if you're travelling/on the go. My next question is, would it work in a pinch if you needed something to help clean a hotel room but didn't have any other purifiers on hand?
@@RollEXE It won't clean the whole hotel room, I don't think, but you could put it on the nightstand right next to your head and breathe the filtered air blowing at your face.
Another product with no pre-filter. This makes the air purifier pretty useless as you'll need to change the filters every few months.
This device is not used like a traditional air purifier as it creates a flow of clean air rather than cleaning the whole room. So a lack of pre filter should not be an issue.
@@HouseFresh A month after unboxing, and you have not followed up. Are you disappointed with its output? On the high setting, how many CFM does it produce? Can its laminar air column be felt on one's face from a distance of 2 feet in an indoor, zero wind setting?
