Inverted while Randy sleeps in the RANS S-21 Outbound!

- Randy took me on a super fun familiarization flight with Randy Schlitter of RANS Aircraft takes me up in the S21 Outbound. No, he didn't fall asleep with a fighter pilot at the controls. But he did give me endless crap! My kit shows up in 2 weeks, so I flew out to Hays, Kansas to get a head start for the rudder build workshop. Randy and I are two jokesters telling fishing, er, flying stories the whole time.

Great video, im new to flying @51 y,o live in Wyoming and found Bush to be more practical for myself. still working on my PPL , just past solo not sure if i would be up to tackle building my own however i hope to see the procces keep um coming

You may want to consider Vinyl wrapping. I did my RV-12 for $1500. Still looks new after six years.

What’s was the speed and RPM for the high power setting?
I see that you posted the manufacturer's recommendation about prop/engine RPM when that question came up. Hmmm. So you read the manual before you went to Kansas. You are not a typical fighter pilot in my experience. Your vid quality is really primo.

Probably a dumb question but I noticed the plane said light sport, but you were definitely doing speeds over 120 knots and I’m assuming Randy is a private pilot or better and it’s OK for him to go that fast but I thought the plane itself had to be restricted? Like I said, probably a dumb question.

Jumpseat on a SkyWest 200? I got to do a demo in the same bird with Randy, it was way fun.
I listed for the jumpseat but scored a seat in back on all 5 of my flights to and from Hays. And it’s not like loads were light. I got super lucky. Hardest part was finding a cab to catch the one flight out of Hays. Yeah the demo was rad. Can’t wait to tear open my kit when I finish my tailwheel endorsement in Kitfoxes next week

@@andrewmorris3479 Yessir! 2 months in on a 7 month backlog. I’ll be sitting in the cockpit making engine noises waiting for it in about 3 months.
How much does it cost to set up the avionics and flight instruments like in the video?
I’d guess $15K
I go over all that in one of our videos if you want to look. It’s about $20k with them cutting panel. Another $5k if you want everything prewired for plug and play operation. Again, there are a lot of little things that can make it go up or down.

I would not be interested in stol competition so this plane would be much better than the kitfox the folding wings is the only cool thing.

I'm 6'4" and was curious how well you fit and liked it? I was able to sit in an S-20 with bubble doors and it felt pretty good but we did not going flying. I believe these have the same size cabin.
Yep, same cabin and I’m 6’4”. No real issues, just ducking under the wing. Hey iPhone, I finally used the word “ducking”. Your autocorrect for 10 years has not been in vane.

RANS SUX never ever buy a rans lemon aircraft.. ask Randy about drawing/plan mistakes never being corrected even after 10 years. ask Randy About suppling metric fittings with american radiator hose for the cooling system!!!!
