He didn't wanna leave the spurs because he felt that was betraying his teammates. Pop had to tell him not to be dumb and go make money. I wish he had stayed but Pop was right. They couldn't offer him that money with Kawhi still in San Antonio and Lamarcus on the roster, still playing well. I think Boban is loved wherever he goes. He was also a fan favorite in San Antonio and would get cheered everytime he would come on the court.
He will be remembered long after he retires
He got his MVP titles in Red Star Belgrade (Serbia), not the CSKA. He barely played in Moscow.

Actually, the high point of his international career was after he left Europe and came back to Serbia. He won 3x mvp in Serbian league playing for Mega Vizura, and his best years in Europe were when he came to Red Star. Playing for CSKA was probably the lowest point of Boban career, it was probably to early for him to leave Serbia for such a big Europe club.

Some wrong facts there. CSKA was not hight of his European career. Close to a low times. After he left that club he got better and better. In Belgrades Red Star he went legend mode and earned mentioned MVP titles.
