China does not want the renminbi to be the global reserve as it comes with other onerous responsibilities that China does not want to shoulder (something like the Pax Americana and previously, Pax Britannica). If you want to point the finger, it's the USA that is killing the US dollar -- by weaponizing it, and by running up staggering current account deficits and concomitant fiscal deficits that have to be funded by debt that cannot possibly be repaid. The USA is visibly a declining economic and geopolitical power, with its de-industrialized heartland and its weakening hold over other parts of the world.

There's no such thing, other than what folks choose to trust more than any other currency.
USD is the defacto reserve, simply because there's more of it.

Global reserve depends on geopolitical dominance and a set of global institutions (World Bank, IMF) that were fashioned in 1944 and 1945 and called, as shorthand, "Bretton Woods." In the early 70s, it was replaced by what is called "Bretton Woods 2", as the dollar was untethered from gold and became purely fiat. But now Bretton Woods 2 is also coming to an end. Simply put, a country that is not hegemon cannot have its currency as global reserve. Having the dollar as reserve allows the USA to inflict a tax on the rest of the world. And "folks" elsewhere are sick and tired of this tax, which comes with the threat of US military force.
No , it's not about de- dollarization, it's about dollar devaluation. The sooner this dept system ends the better for the world.

There are several things that give the US huge advantages, future predictions are always sketchy, the US can be self sufficient if it needs to. Not many nations have the natural resources and transportation network of the US. Watch what happens to China if the food supply is disrupted.

Given China's holdings in US Debt, they will devalue but not completely destroy the US Dollar for fear of hurting its own economy. By devaluing the US Dollars, how can they ensure that they will recoup their loans, and debt held other than the collateral of land and property assets. This would mean that China may ask Russia not to destroy The US/West for fear of negatively Resetting it's own economy and efforts unless they perceive it is worth the risk. IMO
The US dollar has no gold backup because of its overreliance of the US dollar only by printing more US dollars.
China will not do it, but USA is working as hard as possible to degrade USD from its current position in international trade

This just won't happen as long as China keeps restricting the maximum foreign currency trade to about 50,000 USD a year for Chinese citizens and residents. Also, why would anyone who isn't affected by this restriction want a currency that is that tightly controlled by its government?
China ain't doing a global currency. It's a currency exchange outside the western system. And you need yuan only when you buy goods from China. You go to the exchange, you sell your own money to people that want goods from your country for yuan, and then buy whatever product you want from China...

I know, Bob-- no argument with history, just speaking from events during my lifetime. I remember when Nixon was opening this can of worms 😖 i remember when i first saw "Made in China" on a product in Target (about 1994, a pair of flimsy black canvas shoes, looked like those we had seen in pictures of standard Chinese dress of that time; were very small and narrow.) In our generation, we've gone from 'no contact with the outside world' China to their taking over that same 'outside world.' And we'll get buried. I remember the first Chinese co-worker i knew-- she was so happy to be here, she felt so free. "I can get in a car i bought and drive anywhere i want to go and not need papers to show permission to leave my neighborhood." We didn't know how quickly it could slip through our fingers. Yes-- i wish Nixon had just stayed home.

China Observer channel recently had a video exposing that chinese currency notes had duplicate serial numbers printed on multiple notes... but they weren't counterfeit. That means the Chinese government are printing money, but potentially only reporting they are printing 1/2 that amount.
Another older story talked about banks telling vacationers to NOT use cash overseas.. some vacationers ignored this.. and found out the bank was issuing counterfiet currency. Holding wealth in ANY of the government fiat currencies is a bad idea.
Don't blame China for what is entirely USA own fault. De-dollarization is caused by the failed policies of several administrations. People are looking for alternatives to the USD.

No they are not accepted everywhere, not by a long shot. You can't spend US Dollars in 99.99% of businesses anywhere in Europe. You have to go to a guy in a little store and exchange them for the local currency OR your credit card USD$ purchase is automatically converted at a very poor exchange rate INTO the local currency, not accepted in dollars. EU, India, Brazil, Russia, China, can trade amongst themselves without a Dollar in sight, and hello, that's way more than half the world
US dollars are NOT accepted in the UK. People will tell you to stick your dollar where the ☀️ don't shine. You have to exchange your dollar just as you would have to exchange the yuan. You under educated 🤡

All currencies are replacing the US dollar, but specifically gold. With Brics you pay the other country in your own currency. If they don't want your currency then they convert it to gold.

Can't tokenize gold as that violates the entire system. The commodity backing the system must remain separate from the system. Also, the "elites" are going to keep the gold free to trade amongst themselves, if it were tokenized it'd be 100% impossible to trade between themselves as the gold is required to be physically possessed. Only the dumb masses accept paper certs that pretend they own something.
Also, DLT is NEVER going to take off as we're already at the point where datacentres are at their limits and need to be shutdown, especially if the so-called "sustainability" is to be followed.

Until you end US passport and move assets, forms or taxes will be due to IRS every tax year including any new wealth taxes that are coming. Of course there is foreign taxes paid deduction.

No it will not replace the USD. USD just won’t be as strong and not used as it once was. The USD will remain a currency.
Highly unlikely, BRICS isn't anywhere near united or ready to do any such thing. The reality is that as China aren't making their currency the 'Global Reserve' as they don't want the headaches that come with doing so, so that leaves only the Euro. Given that 32 countries (and 14 territories) already use it (some do so without permission) and many more who'll happily use it, the Euro will very likely be the new Global Reserve Currency by 2030 assuming the EU doesn't fall apart before then.
Also, the BRICS system has too little adoption and no where near enough reserves backing it as is required by their own rules. As more people reject CBDC's, the viability of a new system such as the one BRICS is using just isn't going to succeed. The more tyranny is pushed by the likes of the WEF, the more people revert to cash, bullion and other tangibles, as they don't want digital ID or CBDC's; people want real freedom and autonomy.
