Even if what Alex said was taken out of context, what he is saying is pretty bloody true for the most part. People in the public eye worry so much about what they're saying to avoid causing any issues but it's refreshing to hear someone be genuinely honest for a change. It is true, it's the same headline acts over and over again and whilst they are good bands who put on good shows, it would be nice to see a completely new load of bands come in and change things up a bit.

Alex does have a point here. I don't think they are necessarily being arrogant or envious, they are just fed up with the crap that is being pushed through the music industry.
i know a few great bands from Slovakia (Purist, Parting mouth) and their lyrics are English and i think that those band deserve to be at some huge festival. Purist is getting to be a little bit more famous these days. They will be at some festivals, but only as a small band and Parting mouth wont be anywhere and i think it is sad cos shit bands are famous in Slovakia and no place is here for young bands. i would be so happy if these guys got as headliners to some festivals cos i love their music
Looking at things from the ticket selling side of things - which in all fairness determines whether a festival goes ahead or not - there are no new headliners and the likes of The Rolling Stones, Blur, The Stone Roses etc will be the ones to sell tickets. Put it this way, I've seen The Who, Blur, The Stones Roses and almost saw David Bowie had he not pulled out at the same festival, all of those years sold out whereas this year said festival has newer headliners and tickets are still available.

Oh yeah, I agree with you and I'm not currently a Two Door fan either, but NME have a record of shit stirring now and it frustrates me they need to do this to sell their magazine. This interview was 15 minutes originally, which makes you wonder what else they may have said. Another example is when they twisted Yannis from foals words to make it sound like he hated The Stone Roses, when in fact he is a fan.
it wouldn't surprise me of nme edited it in a way that made what they said look worse, but that aside i appreciate the honestly tbh i think these guys are genuine and they have a good point. AM did play a fantastic show, though.
im a two door fan and i dont like how NME edited this to make the band seem like pricks. he obviously did say these things but hes being honest and honesty is a good trait to have.
