Burnt brass does not match the complexion of many Africans, yet I have an Indian friend who is darker than an African friend of mine. These descriptors do not dictate the ethnicity that Jesus was. The context of the Bible and its location does. At the end of the day, the skin color does not matter. What does is that preacher idolizing their skin color in the name of Jesus
All this description in Rev 1 is a representation of what John is seeing in Spirit. If we take these descriptions literally, you'd have to reconcile that with it saying his eyes are like a flame of fire, swords come out of his mouth, and holding 7 stars in his hand. As a Jew that believes in Christ, I will say that Jews come in many colors whether fair skinned or darker skinned. To say Christ wasn't a black man isn't necessarily true, but to say he was a white man wouldn't be true either, although he more than likely have been a man that has color on his skin. I do appreciate how this Pastor did acknowledge that we don't worship Christ because of color and that we aren't to make color an idol!
