I'd be the first one to tell you that we don't highlight very many Honda Fits on this channel, but this one is a special one. We first spotted Esteban Gonzalez's K-powered Honda Fit at our Chronicles and Coffee gathering a few months back. I was highly impressed with the collection of parts that it had, as well as the amount of work that went into it , that I knew it would be an ideal choice to have on an episode of our "Drive-By" series. Coincidentally enough, Esteban watched our first episode and was intrigued by our friend Ken Suen and his Civic. He needed some custom fabrication work done to his car so he contacted Ken and the Fit went over to him not long after the meet. I asked Esteban if he was interested in bringing his Spoon Fit by when the car was ready and he was more than happy to let us dig into it. Since Ken had become so familiar with the car, I asked him to stop by when we were filming as well so he could provide some of his own insight and also detail the work he put into it.

I love how he handled that charger. 4 cylinders basically STOCK, straight had the charger wind out his full 8 cylinders and didn’t pass until the run was already over. You have to respect a Honda head from my era, you could tell he was like whatever with that guy. Awesome build and dope video Joey. I like this format, felt like I was kicking with you guys.

this is more of a rendition of a modern civic hatch than the current civic hatch XD its small, lightweight, and probably a lot of fun to drive.

If you use the K24Z engine it’s much more electronically compatible and simplifies the swap.
Something about this type of Honda community makes me wish there was more people like this on the Subaru side. Who needs big power when you can just do a stiff, lightweight, and clean build. Love the video ❤
Why Honda never made an SI of the Fit/Jazz is beyond me.

My first car was a GD3 Fit. I will always have love for these cars.
My ex had a GD. It hurt to let that thing go. The first car I put on the road was a GE after a decade and a half on bikes. It's fun as hell.

I drive a GD3 and just seeing a JDM front conversion, I know it's not an ordinary GE8 lol. Those JDM conversions are not cheap.

Awesome vlog Joey! Once this whole covid chaos blows away, I'm going to make a drive down to SoCal and you guys can take my K24 GD Fit for a rip! 250whp, 200ft/lbs and 9,000RPM in a 2,300lbs car can get pretty addicting haha.
Though the JDM Fit/Jazz may get lighter as they get newer, the USDM Fits we get do get heavier as they get newer (2471lbs for GD, 2540lbs for GE, 2595lbs for GK). More airbags, more safety features, etc etc! Hence why I decided to build the GD!

I love this car man... My girlfriend has a 2013 Sport I have been wanting to K swap... and I have an FA5 donor in the driveway should I choose to pull the trigger. Aside from the power, I love driving the Fit. A K has always belonged under the hood of this car!!! Mad props man, again, love it.

I am a GE8 owner in CA and looking to do something similar. I found the tuning menu for this car and wondering what the budget should be like...may be not going full scale like this one...but at least for the engine and the transmission portion...somebody, please help~

Love this Joey, thanks for doing a video on it. I sold my R33 Skyline and bought a GG6 Jazz and i love it, its stock but its so pokey and handles like a dream, a K swap would be the one for sure, shame we dont have anywhere in UK that would do it though.
The uk has ton's of specialised honda swap shops and engine enough over there... do it man 🤩

Swapping the engine in is easy but the electronics is a pain in the ass. I was hoping the electronics side of the swap was going to be explained.

Settings aren’t anything out of the ordinary, just factory settings shot at 4K and 30fps

I loved everything about my fit ('10 Sport Manual), but the lack of power. When I bought it I was like getting my old '94 Si all over again. Only thing was, there wasn't anything available for it for performance. :/
