Just one small trick, cuz I was always copying layers and merging them as you mentioned. On a Mac you can select any active/non-hidden layer and press SHIFT+OPT+CMD+E and this will create a merge of all visible layers as a new layer. It's completely non-destructive. Love all the tutorials. Amazing work.

5:32 you jumped from brushing to putting text, but i did all this and then when i wanted to aligne my angel it distorted thewhite cant select it or, when i tried to move the whole things Brush strokes were in place like i never brushed anything and it didint delete the brushed surface that was selected to leave just wings. Help

@@itsmeadirectioner Hi there, if you have created the group and have all the assets in there you can click and drag the group onto the tab that you want it to go into , it should then load into the new document
MY photoshop doesn't do the same thing when you merge where it shows "Threshold (MErged)", I do the same steps you do on color range and don't get anything that resembles the "money" kinda look of yours. Therefore I cant really go forward through the tutorial. Does photoshop really change this much per year? I'm on 2024
That’s a lot of questions man 😅 we print on los angeles apparel (1801) for a more vintage look just pick the grey color. It’s already garment dyed so it has that worn feel to it.

I had the same problem, it's because you have to log in to the website he linked and use the download button. Right clicking on the image and saving it that way will download a terrible quality version.
I'm just in the first step where you turn on the threshold but mine, even though I've adjusted the threshold levels, still doesn't blend the colors like yours@@IntuitiveDesigns
@@DuyNguyen-cl9pj there is no grey in the threshold effect, I add them myself by creating two different layers in different values. I explain it clearly in the video starting from 2:10
I was following along until you dragged the angel group layer to the black background, i'm new photoshop so i'm still learning but I wish you would've explained that part, I tried but the angel is so small on the new layer.
Two possibilities: You either somehow resized the angel photo when you did the effects, or you did something to the A3 document. Pause the video and copy the settings 100%.

Instead of using color range for highlights and midtones use gradient map
How do you do this effect on a white background like as if your doing it on a white T-shirt?
So now how would u remove the black background to place it on Tshirts etc?
turn off the black background layer and you're all set. it's common sense my man.
after adding color overlay my design stays white and it looks like only the borders are coloured. I don't know what I am doing wrong here.

When I merged those layers in the fundamental section, they became one rather than converting to more layers like yours did

if it works for screenprint then it works for DTG as well. can't say for the other way around.

He selected the highlight and the midtones and then grouped them , the shortcut for windows is Ctrl+g , not too sure about mac, Hope this helps!

Can this technique be used for DTG printers?
Yes! Just know that, if it can be used for screenprint then it can be used in any other printing technique. Screenprint is the absolute basic.
