- Skyblocks might just be my favourite way of playing Terraria, and Shimmering Skies is one of the most confusing and challenging ones out there! So join me as I battle my way through not just bosses and events, but the hoops I'll need to jump through and puzzles I'll need to solve just to spawn them in the first place. This challenge is going to take a lot longer than just 100 days!

This series is so satisfying to watch.
thank you so much for this series, because as awesome as this map looks, I do not have the mental fortitude to farm as much as you need to especially in the beginning
Yeah it’s been pretty tedious at some points, I won’t lie. A lot of the time spent has been idle while waiting for mobs to spawn, plants to grow, fishing etc. if I wasn’t making this a series I probably would have given up by now
You always catch my timezone at a point where I'm looking for something to watch, thanks man!
What a beautiful story of overcoming trials and hardships on the way to enter hardmode! I loved watching your process of trying out strategies against the Wall of Flesh, utilizing everything this tiny world has to offer, learning things with each new attempt. Not to mention the insane progress you've made so far - I mean, getting to the point where you are just from a handful of blocks, building all those artificial biomes and getting stuff. I love this series, thank you for keeping going - I am definitely staying tuned!
Something about the 'buildings' you make in these tickles my brain in the right way. Very satisfying
i just watched the other 2 episode's and they were perfect, this is a plesent surprise
I was waiting for this
dang
i admire the effort and persistence put into this. crazy
though i think perhaps using hammered minecart tracks to actually let you swap between higher and lower rails by holding w or s wouldve been perhaps a smart strategy
Wait, you can do that???
You can do that, but it's rather annoying because you have to manually add each dropoff point to the higher rail by placing a rail 1 tile below the top rail, without smart cursor, and then hammer them so both rails are connected with the top rail taking priority. I wouldn't add up rails because that would be a pain and you can just jump, but down rails would have let you avoid stopping when switching downwards if you took that approach.
@@ChiefLogan_ haha yeah, minecart tracks can do some really fun cool things
You could have made the two rails work, although without the damage I guess its a moot point. Still, every 30 or so tiles you could have tilted the top track down and hammered away the bumper that stops you from falling without jumping, so that it would lead you to fall back on the bottom track again.
Again, a moot point, but it was just something I noticed lol. Amazing series so far! Can't wait to see how it continues :D
i just finished it 1 hour ago, peak timing, absolutely amazing series i love your calming voice its so easy to get sleepy to
i love this series so much. glad to have another episode
oh how nice , i just finished watching the other two !! very nice series so far
FINALLY WERE BACK
Incredible content. Keep working on the thumbnail game because you deserve drastically more viewership.
Thank you for the wall of flesh tip on the last video, I ended up raising my rail towards the left side of the map so I could just shoot straight and also had to switch to the zappinator for my kill. Im now at around 14 hours with no mechanical skull drop :(
No problem! Another tip then: use the wireless version of the farm I made a tutorial for and use spider walls on the spawning platform. I use it in the next episode to get plenty mechanical skulls (side note that once you beat a mech, it’s summon item stops dropping, so you want to stock up on skulls beforehand as you can’t craft them)
@@ChiefLogan_ Thank you! and you are not alone in the blood moon pain. at least you can get a sundial now
My experience with WoF is similar to your successful attempt. The scythe is truly king, the zapinator and bee gun can theoretically also do the job with some help. I'm sure there's some sort of arrow option that works, but I don't know the ideal one. Beenades are still ridiculously good... as long as you have something for them to land on and blow up. I'm not an expert on the required numbers on Legendary. I tend to fight WoF while running along the bottom world border, not because it's an ideal strat, but because I'm too lazy to make a bridge. I find that the downward angle of the lasers makes them easy to avoid and you can focus entirely on DPS gear.
Legendary definitely makes it a tight fight, but it was a lot of fun to optimise for damage in a way I usually never have to do in vanilla
With the other attempts leading you to the edge of the world itd be awesome to see where the WoF died, by using the box, in the next one! :)
it is technically possible to get snow as soon as you get into hardmode with present drop snowglobe which spawns mobs that drop snow
but since it's time-gated i don't know if you think it's fair to use
hey after the eye of chuthulu you get crimson and can get crimson crates which can obtain a panic necklace that can be shimmered down into a life crystal and band of starpower
That recipe isn’t shimmerable unfortunately
@@ChiefLogan_ unfortunate
Against wof you could have track swapped by every 10 blocks or so destroying one rail so you'd fall and then jump up whenever. Can't gerentee it would work but it can
Incredible work.
11:27 1st base with wall of flesh
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, but do you think this run is possible in mods like Calamity? If so, would love to see you do a run :)
It’s possible in that nothing would break or bug out, but a lot of the modded content wouldn’t be available. I’ve done some work researching and theorising a potential skyblock that gets you to SCal, but after this playthrough I probably want a break from skyblock for a bit. It’ll be interesting to see how 1.4.5 might change this though, once it releases and Calamity updates that is

For the double rail design, wouldn't building one that goes up and down do the trick?
It can happen in all worlds (summoning king slime by chance) but I think you mean it can spawn in the middle third, which it can’t in normal worlds
It’s a different spawn mechanic - in normal world king slime has a chance to spawn on grass on the outer thirds of the world. In remix he has a chance to spawn any time you kill a slime
@@ChiefLogan_ the remix seed has A LOT of really small changes.

horray, new video (i am def not 8 days late)

sneed!
i thought crimson grass turns mud into dirt
It used to, then an update added crimson and corrupt mud
@@ChiefLogan_ makes sense, i still have memories of seeing a dirty wasteland instead of the jungle because hardmode decided to put corruption right on top of the jungle
42? It took me like 100 in classic
So much of it is luck tbh. Getting a mirror early saved me potentially hours of grinding mimics
@@ChiefLogan_ well for me it was a normal world, it was my first time playing the game, I didn’t see any videos on the game, the only things I knew was what my friend told me, also can you download the map on mobile?
@wilsonodell423 you can download it on mobile from Curseforge, there should be a link to it on the steam workshop page
@@ChiefLogan_ ok, I don’t have a steam account at all though because I don’t have a pc to play on
@wilsonodell423 you’ll need a pc to download the world to then transfer it to mobile I think
Can you add somewhere what music you used in the video
Other than a stardew valley song at the end, it's all just the terraria OST
@@ChiefLogan_12:24 this is the only song i dont recognize
@tvcat5096 sorry, that’s the Stardew valley song. I accidentally typed start instead of end in my last comment
yoooooo

I couldn’t watch that wall fight that was actually painfull. Like just build a platform dude.
As I explain in the video, building a platform would make beefed-up imps spawn since this is Legendary mode. On top of that, if I had to use mobility accessories rather than damage and defensive ones I would have either died or crossed the world without dealing enough damage to the wall.
@@ChiefLogan_ make nigh edge farm imo banners and you one shot and two shot them and it cuts there damage more then half. You could have also done this th-cam.com/video/kEt0j9c4xsc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=IdBUCdvF8fk1aEuc
@Nnbhcsw are you aware of the concept of this video? It’s a skyblock, I have limited options. Those options do not include the nights edge or wiring.
Trust me, this was the best and only way I could find to beat the WoF with the items I had available
@@ChiefLogan_do you have enough dungeon blocks to make a dungeon biam? If you do you can get every weapon to make the sword. If not then you still could have gotten the banners to make the imps basically one shot or two shot to most weapons. Also the imp AI works if there hit ones they will try to teleport rather then attack so as long as you hit them they will do nothing.
@Nnbhcsw I don’t have any dungeon blocks. Technically there are some in a locked corrupt chest but I can’t open that pre-plantera. Using a platform and focussing on hitting imps would have meant I wouldn’t deal enough damage before the wall crosses the world. The fight is incredibly tight on such a short world and in legendary difficulty, I don’t think you understand that
