I am a certified (and certifiable) Electrician and Mechanic, and I have always used the side cutters (you call them wire cutters) in that way. I also use them to remove split pins in the same way (you call them cotter pins). Your a brave man admitting to everyone you have a tiny nozzle :). Great a fellow weirdo, I always remove the weld spatter before I paint even in places where no one will see it. FYI IMHO POR 15 is one of the best when properly applied.[

Yea, side cutters are the proper term... Spatter is one of the many reasons why I prefer TIG welding. No spatter, and if there is spatter that's the least of your worries. 😀 POR 15 is the proper application. I agree whole heartedly!
By the time I got around to painting, My POR can was dried up. Note to self, don't buy the quart size thinking you can open it, seal it - put it in the fridge thinking it won't go off. the 6 pack of pint size is perfect! I ended up using 2k primer and 2k engine paint instead. I'm regretting my decision already. this IRS will be bouncing between Jags until I get the boosted XK6 engine built. the engine and the rest of the drive train will probably find it's way in the Pink Series 1 or one of the two Series III's If I live long enough to see that day. ugh!
