So, I noticed this same issue. My solution was to buy a 20-pack of 100% cotton washable diapers (yes, diapers), fold them into quarters, and wedge them between the edge of the case and the tip of the headstock. Since a quick wipedown is the last step before returning guitar to case, it has just become another step in the process. If there's too much space between headstock and case, folding one in half and placing it over the pickups (NOT the bridge) usually creates enough friction to hold the guitar in place. I also store the cases vertically with headstock side up, obviously. Avoid swinging the case around like a scythe and you are good to go. While it may not be as esthetically pleasing to see upon opening the case, the old saying "function over fashion " seems to apply. The "over the pickups" method works well for Gator cases as well, which are great when you don't want to spend 300 bucks on a case for a cheaper guitar but still want the protection. Nice Jag.

I like to stick with TKL/Boblen cases made in Canada. They are reasonable in price and built extremely well!

I am just about to buy a tele case, now knowing that they fit loose, well that is a disappointment. My telecaster plays so nice, I need to start looking custom cases. Thank you, You Rock!

Why not look at the molded abs case Fender makes? I think that's the one I'm leaning towards. They look like they will hold a Telecaster really snug.

@@jimdent351 I was just looking at the Fender Telecaster Thermometer Case, it looks good also.

The Gator Icon cases are nice. The standard guitar model works great for a Tele.

custom shop case, holds guitar that looks like its been left out in the rain and buried in the sand for 30 years. Genius!

This was a sarcastic reaction video to a big TH-camr that was dissing Fender cases and selling gig bags that cost a ridiculous amount.
I hadn’t noticed the slop in the mainstream Fender cases that are made for more than one style guitar versus the perfect fit of the Custom Shop cases until his video. Makes financial sense to have one case for all Strats/Teles than two different cases, but the deluxe cases for CS that take it up a level.
As for relic guitars. Feels better in the hands than a poly coated guitar. Don’t have to worry about dinging it (like the kitten running into a fan and knocking it into a new mint guitar on a stand). I’d rather have a CS than vintage to play because it feels right but everything is new-don’t have to worry about something crumbling after 60 years and gutting the value by replacing things.

I recently got a Gator LED bass case for my Fender Player P-Bass because Sweetwater listed it as "certified fit" which they describe as having minimal to no movement, however that wasn't true at all. Not only did the body slide around like crazy, but the neck wouldn't even stay in the neck pocket when the case was closed. You could feel and hear the bass flopping around inside. What a joke. I just set it up a return, and purchased a Fender G&G Precision bass case instead. Still waiting on it, hopefully it's better. Either I got a defective Gator case or someone at Sweetwater is drunk. It's the only bad experience I've had with them, and I wouldn't recommend using their 'case finder/certified fit". Will it fit? Yes. Does it have minimal to no movement like they claim? Hell no.
Btw, the case was also listed as certified fit for a Fender Jazz Bass 4-string and a Squire Affinity 5-string, but I have both of those basses and they had the same issue too. I also bought a used Player Stratocaster on Reverb recently which came with the Gator Economy Wood Case. It works but I'm not happy with the fit. Great for storage but I wouldn't trust moving it around too much. I'm not buying another case from Gator.

Nearly all of the Fender-logo cases are Made in China... unless it is a "G&G" version, and those start out at $300+

Are you serious? Dude Are you throwing your guitar around tossing it into the back of a van on tour? When you close the lid the large pad in the lid will push down ever so onto the guitar keeping it well enough protected. I'm sorry this is just a B.S. thing. I've carried my Strat around in the Fender case for over 35 years to gigs to parties to practice shit ive even dropped it down a flight of stairs once scrapped the living shit out of the outer case. Guitar was just fine. Not sure what your going on about. Some one has to call out the B.S.

It was a sarcastic reaction to a video made by a well known TH-camr that said the Fender cases weren’t enough and that you needed a three-four hundred dollar gig bag he was selling.
My daughter bought me a used nitro relic Strat clone with Lollars recently. The original case was not included. Bought a Gator ICON gig bag/case and that is easier to carry than a Fender case, but only because it didn’t come with one.

Not to mention almost ALL Fender(Gretsch, Jackson, etc)-logo cases are made in China -- aren't things made in China supposed to be CHEAPER? they are made as cheap as possible... and "whored out" with a "Fender" logo... which must add about $75 to the price just to say "Fender"... I will never pay $200+ for a Chinese-made Fender logo case... why?

IMHO, the Chinese Fender cases should be LESS money than (say) a nice Gator case, which is Made in America...

@@candlestickproductions6950 I like the Gator Icon cases. Those are like $250. The high end USA Fenders I have did come with USA made hard cases.
