    So here I am, at year 2019, listening to Miss Evita with my 12 yr old daughter who has an inclination in music. She asked me about Madonna if ever she acted in films. So I told her what movie she was in that I loved most and my favorite. And now this song is my daughter's favorite and she's planning to sing it. 😍
    Viva Evita! Viva Argentina!

    • @horaciosacco2538
      @horaciosacco2538 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Tammy: the Musical was created to show only"her dark side"or to say it better : how the richs..the oligarcs..the intelectual people from this time, in only one word all her enemies.thought and said about her. Then England had lost its inflence in Argentina thats means its dirty economic manipulation in the country.Evita and Peron did it for protecting the economy .and protecting the country..It is true.she was very hart with her enemies .. this time was like a "silent cold war" in thePerons era in the power. Argentina suddenly changed..and the "oldest ownern" of Argentina were angry...When A.L.Weber and Time Rice knew the story of all that..did the musical on this way.they found it more interes ting than a "good Evita".. but I think that they didnt think that the people would wish to read about her and to know her real life.and her extraordinary Fundation..her sozial activities and laws for all the people of Argentina and too for dedicating it to all around the world where to help would be necessary. Hugs

      YES! I've read the worst about her. She wasn't a prostitute! She had to fight & scratch her way out of poverty. And out of the whole bunch of them; (Juan included), she was the only one that genuinely cared for the descamisados that SHE rounded to get Juan OUT of incarceration and INTO the Casa Rosada! She risked her life doing that, BTW! She could have just said "adios" to Juan, & continued being a successful radio star! She may not have had a doctorate in economics, but she did what she could (with little help from her husband) to keep her promises JUAN INITIALLY MADE!! Even Maria Flores, the writer of "The Woman With A Whip' admitted that, in her hate filled book about her!

      Women have no shame making claims about how oppressed they are, and yet so many are blind to their obvious privileges. Among those privileges is being able use sex or romantic relationships to get unearned promotions.
      You dare them to accomplish the same, because you don't get it. If they're a man they can't do the same because they don't have the female privilege. They would need to take a more difficult path to get their.

    Todos mis respetos a Eva Perón, cuando ser español era un delito en todo el mundo y España estaba sometida a un embargo internacional tras una de las mas brutales guerras de la historia (tras una guerra siempre se ayuda al pais salvo a España) un embargo que castigaba al pueblo no a sus dirigentes, AHÍ ESTABA EVITA y con ella Argentina
    Y sí, hace tiempo que no somos una potencia, más de lo que se cree, mas de 100 años, solo somos historia, pero una gran historia y no fuimos tan malos

    @Purrete Eva was not self-centred or greedy. and so what if she was greedy or self-centered, she did significant things for the poor working class and women of Argentina. She built over 30 hospitals and established one of the biggest charitable enterprises in human history, that distributed food, clothing, medicine and money to the needy. The people of Argentina loved her for all that she done. Who cares if she was doing it for her own benefit, I'd like to see you do something that impressive.

    I've personally corresponded with Tomas Eloy Martinez, director of the Latin American program at Rutgers University. He told me that Eva Peron had nothing to do with ODESSA and that there is no evidence that she was ever even present while any such negotiations were taking place.

  • @evitastories
    @evitastories 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    Tomas Eloy Martinez is a professor of Latin American history at Rutgers University. I'd recommend reading his article "The Woman Behind the Fantasy." In this article, he points out that Evita was not a fascist, was not a nazi, and had nothing to do with helping Nazis enter Argentina. These are just myths, a few of several that swirl around Eva Peron, the most mythologized woman of the 20th Century.

    Julie M. Taylor writes in "Eva Peron: The Myths of a Woman" that the poor and working classes of Argentina never actually considered Eva Peron a saint anyway.
    Taylor writes that the middle and upper classes invented the myth that the lower classes saw her as a saint. The middle and upper classes couldn't relate to the very tangible and real improvements in living conditions that Eva Peron made for the poor and working classes.

    The hospitals Eva built were the most advanced in Argentina during the late 40's, with equipment being imported from the US. If Argentina didn't maintian those hospitals & allowed them to rot, well, I guess you can't blame Eva. Even when her establishments were being destroyed by the military governments years after her death, they decided to keep her hospital. Why? Because it had the most advance equiptment in the country & historians for the most part agreed, her hospitals were luxurious.

    The second part of our solution is is equity. Not equality, just equity. Equal chances to learn, to work in safety and equal chances to exist. In different social classes of course, but exist. Whitout serious existential problems in the lower class and whitout wrongful, destructive, exploitive and inproductive prosper of upper classes. That's all shortly. Anyway, I'm deeply theist too, and that thinking you've mentioned hurts my feelings as well.

    @whizart Excellent, whizart, for bringing this to people's attention. I was living in Italy when this album was released and we all went crazy. Evita did not go to stage immediately. It was a unique case for Webber/Rice. First they released the album aforementioned {titled "Evita: An Opera Based on the Life of Evita Peron", etc.}. It sold all over Europe and then they took it to the stage (in UK + US). Covington only sang the album, she turned down the musical due to schedule conflicts.

    Esta chica era una maravilla de la naturaleza, en primer lugar por su increíble belleza, una belleza fascinante, cautivadora. Ninguna mujer en el mundo ha llegado a esta perfección. Aunque los criterios de belleza han cambiado, hoy envidiaría a las mujeres más bellas. Es imposible no enamorarse locamente mientras admira su rostro angelical. Naturalmente maravilloso, también, por todas las acciones que ha realizado para su país y especialmente para las personas en dificultades. Construcción de hospitales, orfanatos, residencias de ancianos, defensa de trabajadores CGT derecho a votar mujeres, donaciones a los necesitados. Nadie en el mundo ha hecho tanto por su gente como esta chica. Sus descamisados (sin camisa) como los llamaba cariñosamente la adoraban. Su muerte fue la mayor tragedia para su país, pero ella es y seguirá siendo por toda la eternidad la madone de Argentina.

Those who schooled in Europe & read the days headlines sipping their mate from their multi-million dollar estancias were unaffected. Try analyzing the admisitrations of President Irigoyen, Jose Felix Uriburu, General Pedro Ramírez all prior Peron. No wonder Gardel sang "when you split your shoes looking for some money so you can buy food," Try answering without insults LOL.

    herstome, im not sure where you read suck bulcrap, but Ms Duarte de Peron, was never a stripper, nor was she directly involved in anybodies death. She was, in fact an amazing woman that made political history by bringing women into politics and saving the unfortunate from suffering and pain. She was indeed an amazing person.

    And believe it or not, there are scholars, historians/biographers who have ACTUALLY studied the subject for years & have written really detailed accounts (I know it's hard to believe, isn't it?). Would you like a list "my dear"?? I can provide one since I have over 150 books/magazines on the subject & have spoken to many people who lived in Argentina during the first Peronist period & contrary to what you may think, they actually really did like or should I say, LOVED Evita Peron. Cheers.

    @bacabu30 So did the USA. In fact, we started NASA with them, and they helped us stock our Nuclear arsenal.
