I like the sound of the 92 and hope to try one soon, but I would have liked to have seen a shorter offering for estuary work. I know the 90 is there to 35g, but an 86 or 88 would have been amazing, and that would be an incredible pairing. Perhaps something for the future.
I actually ordered the 9 foot 9-35 gram because i like a little softer rod. Its rock hard, the tip is like a cane. Its so stiff. Actually was terribly disappointed after reading all of Henrys reviews and talks about this rod. He said he liked it better than the beloved Exsence Genos Wild Contact. It feels nothing like that rod, in my opinion the Genos is 100x more sensitive. The rod feels like a 20-60 grammer, yet its supposed to be 9-35 grams.
I got the 10ft 18-56 its way to stiiff , so then bought the sgs2 30 -70 long casting and its a miles better rod ,and for £60 was a bargain, SG really need to sort out their ratings between models.
Totally agree with this comment, this rod is very, very stiff. Also the tip broke after about 4 sessions. Maybe I’m just not used to this sort of Carbon. I have to say I just didn’t get on with it.
Hey man - just got the sg8 9’2” and penn slammer 2500. What braid brand and breaking strain would you recommend for that reel and set up? I’m fishing south coast Brighton area
He tossed these rods off so much and all i heard once people staryed buying them is that they snap. Save your money and get a EU custom, best rods going for your money at £200

Bit late to the party but I just picked up my pair of sgs8’s yesterday after borrowing a friends for a month I fell in love with them .

We will see how much they want, i have two Shimano Aspire Seabass and it's time for a new one.

Years ago we used 10/11 Ft rods. I don’t understand the preoccupation with shorter rods these days, especially 8Ft and below.
