I’m 22 and can’t think of anything worse than being more connected online, I sometimes feel like I have to be as a Graphic Designer but my dream is to immersed with nature instead of any kind of digital space. Nature is the only real truth
I feel that. However, I was blessed with the privilege of living my whole life in one of our great national forests and it's allowed me to stay connected with nature. I'd recommend anyone with these interests to take up jobs as foresters or at least have a clean-up party with friends. I want to do a beach clean up with friends and family then throw a party afterwards to celebrate.
Unplug, call someone, have an actual conversation, write a letter to a friend, focus on who and what’s around you. Life goes on without the social media influence.

I deleted my Facebook account earlier today. Complaining about something that I willing participate in seems irresponsible at this point. The damage that social media is doing to this country and democracy as a whole will never end unless we end it.
I was watching him being interviewed about this. He was talking about how he wanted to try and create a more organic and meaningful connections with each other. I was thinking, 'so... Just delete Facebook and let us all get on with our lives'.

Total restriction of things you don't like usually have the opposite effect, making them rebel and actively work against you, and creates a negative association towards said thing. Encourage the behavior you do like instead, lead by example and don't expect kids to pick up sports or going on hikes all by themselves because you told them to, while yourself is inside watching TV. Deleting Facebook is one of the best quality of life improvements I've ever made. The stupidity is overwhelming and it's nice to not have that broadcasted in your face every minute of the day. I agree, as a recovered drug addict, I know that the only thing escaping ever did for me, was ruin my life and my connection to myself, and then began to errode my ability to have quality relationships with others. In the few months before they announced this I was feeling so worried + disgusted with where the world is heading, I feel uncomfortable even when I'm in a space that feels too commercialised, but when I saw this it truly terrified me. From the fact that what could very well become our whole reality would be completely controlled by such an elite few is vile. How little choice we have in how we interact with the world, and how everything I have right now is so reliant on this technology is also terrifying, it seems all art is going to be progressing into this realm, with NFT's already being introduced to warm us up to the idea of digital possesions. He could see where people went and what made them cool. He could also ask if he could be their “friend” and could “like” or “unlike” the places they went to or what they said. Facebook became popular mainly because of marketing. His daddy was rich and Mark just promoted the hell out if it. He had the funds to do so. It certainly wasn't due to creativity. FB is as bland now as it has ever been. Quite reflective of Zuckerberg's personality. It also falsely reports it's users. Since users can never actually delete their accounts the database still holds their info whether they stop using it or not. Why anyone still uses it is beyond me. Personally, I don't relish the idea of my data being sold to the highest bidder. FB (META) will never go away as long as they're still users who are sucked into it's mind control. Boycotting them is a start and if you cannot effect them directly effect them indirectly by boycotting their endorsers, game developers, targeted ad providers etc. those are the ones who put money in Mark's pocket.
What's coincidently troubling is that these past 2 years we have been forced to immerse ourselves more into the digital world (Online meetings, online school, online everything really) due to "covid" government restrictions. I am single and alone with no kids and family. I have endured this pandemic by myself working from home. This is a very disturbing video after what I have experienced recently. I decided to join a class at the local college. It met two times a week. There were a lot of breaks because it was a figure drawing class and every break, people kept their masks on and picked up their phones and didn’t talk to one another. I was in that class for six months and no one spoke to one another or got to know anyone. I went to church every Sunday and left without one person talking to me. I tried to sign up for meet up groups and they were all on zoom. I tried To start a singles Bible study at a mega church and they told me I wasn’t allowed because it attracts the “wrong people”. I’ve been in the depths of despair because weeks go by without me being able to interact with another adult human being in person And videos like this show me that people have stopped knowing how to even do that. When you escape to a different world, you’re not living in reality. You’re not accomplishing anything in the real world. This pandemic has programmed people not to talk because the masks have become duct tape. I worry for this generation.

Seeing this I just want to expand my interaction with the real world. I live with my partner and our 4 children in a summerhouse, by a lake on an island in the baltic sea. I grow our own vegetables in the summer, and we get meat from our neighbour who hunts in the woods here. Seeing this I just want to turn of my phone and go make a wood oven to bake my own bread in. I don't need mote virtiuall reality, I need less. No meta can make me feel the wind in my hair, no meta can make me feel the sun och my skin or the cold water in the lake that so perfectly makes me feel that Im just a part of nature. That's what makes me feel alive, no virtiuall fire or clothes.

PS I have never been on Facebook either, but if it was up to ME, I would keep the name/logo (Facebook) anyways. That "F" logo of theirs has become as familiar to me as "Coca-Cola". That "Meta" name/logo has all the panache of a typical plastic fluorescent backlit business sign of today that is seen ubiquitously on major roads that have strip malls/Starbucks/gas stations/hotels everywhere in urban and suburban America. But then again I AM a "reactionary" by nature--can't say I am always, or even very frequently, enamored of CHANGE. (But I DO recognize its inevitability--just wish it wasn't so FAST.😔) But I will admit too, that being able to "speak" to so many people like I am doing now, without worrying too much about unpleasant repercussions is a nice change that is either nice or just a new addiction.

Kids and parents can play board games and video games together. Books aleast fiction is an escape from reality same as movies. So getting rid of tech doesnt seem to change much here.

Games, like board games, dice games, card games, etc have also been around for thousands of years. Yet very, very few people are effected by books and board games the way people are effected by digital content. I would almost say no one was effected the same way, but since I don't know everyone in the last 5000 years or so, I figured I better not make that much of a absolute statement. 🤣 And although book people are often those crazy introvert types (meaning myself 😜), most of us readily will talk to anyone and everyone who's willing to listen and converse about books. Likewise, board games are usually, though certainly not always, social. In real life social, too. I've met people online, played MMRP games (WoW), and use so-called social media (obviously as we're on a social media site). Yet we humans crave and need actual connection. But we'll readily fall into anything that gives us the dopamine hits we love so much.
Yes, we have 1 TV. It limits what my husband and I watch, but you know what? I realized we'll survive just fine. We have 1 computer that rarely gets used. We have phones (at least my husband and I do) and my daughter has a tablet that we limit time on. Still, we can do better.

I can see this as a trap for anyone with an urge to escape. I’m 22 yrs old and this idea is scary . I have friends way older than I and they brag and boast about this new tech... goes to show how we as a society has been dwindled down to nothing. No emotions, no bonding. I am saddened to think this is just the start
The millennial generation seems to be problematic. I’m genX, I feel pretty bad for that generation, they were the first generation born into this new tech era, during a time when their parents had no clue what consequences there would be. And a lot of mistakes were made during their upbringing. I was born in the analog era and came to age during the rise of the Internet. Thankfully I was a fully mature adult before social media and smart phone tech arrived. And I’m a very cautious parent when it comes to this tech. No social media for my kids, ever.
I think millennials have mostly been lost to it but this can change with the younger generation. People are already building homes out in the woods, traveling the country with “van life”, etc. I think there is a growing movement of people rejecting the social media/techno dystopia and embracing nature/leisure/travel.
No generation is to blame I don't think most people even know what a large time span "millennial" encompasses. I feel that. However, I was blessed with the privilege of living my whole life in one of our great national forests and it's allowed me to stay connected with nature. I'd recommend anyone with these interests to take up jobs as foresters or at least have a clean-up party with friends.

In the few months before they announced this I was feeling so worried + disgusted with where the world is heading, I feel uncomfortable even when I'm in a space that feels too commercialised, but when I saw this it truly terrified me. From the fact that what could very well become our whole reality would be completely controlled by such an elite few is vile.
How little choice we have in how we interact with the world, and how everything I have right now is so reliant on this technology is also terrifying, it seems all art is going to be progressing into this realm, with NFT's already being introduced to warm us up to the idea of digital possesions.

A reality with no limits starts out fun ...People making awesome fantasy houses and creating super cool avatars .... then in short order the fact that ANYTHING is possible makes EVERYTHING boring ... this drives people into a directionless madness where they live in BDSM dungeons dressed as unicorn chickens with rainbow lasers coming out of their nipples. Back in the day people got rich selling real-state in it and companies made versions of products in it. There is even a CSI episode about it. Well second life started to die after gambling scripts became illegal. Then the big crowd started to stay offline, specially the people that could not create. Then the creators could not make the money anymore. Only creators were left and those got bored. After the one prim items nothing new came .

You can’t reconcile that with 15 billion years. Everyone must decide themselves what they believe. You can count me a fool if you like, many do. But, I would ask you one question, if you knew for a fact that the Bible was completely true, would you want to believe it? There’s more built into it than whether or not a certain belief is true or not. There’s the consequences of believing (even if true) vs the consequences not believing (even if false), so examine yourself to see if you actually want truth or perceived freedom. Been on TH-cam (different accounts) since the first day it started and your comment is the first one I read that hits it spot on. Could not be said any better. Facebook became popular mainly because of marketing. His daddy was rich and Mark just promoted the hell out if it. He had the funds to do so. It certainly wasn't due to creativity. FB is as bland now as it has ever been. Quite reflective of Zuckerberg's personality. It also falsely reports it's users. Since users can never actually delete their accounts the database still holds their info whether they stop using it or not. Why anyone still uses it is beyond me. Personally, I don't relish the idea of my data being sold to the highest bidder. FB (META) will never go away as long as they're still users who are sucked into it's mind control. Boycotting them is a start and if you cannot effect them directly effect them indirectly by boycotting their endorsers, game developers, targeted ad providers etc. those are the ones who put money in Mark's pocket.

I am single and alone with no kids and family. I have endured this pandemic by myself working from home. This is a very disturbing video after what I have experienced recently. I decided to join a class at the local college. It met two times a week. There were a lot of breaks because it was a figure drawing class and every break, people kept their masks on and picked up their phones and didn’t talk to one another. I was in that class for six months and no one spoke to one another or got to know anyone. I went to church every Sunday and left without one person talking to me. I tried to sign up for meet up groups and they were all on zoom. I tried To start a singles Bible study at a mega church and they told me I wasn’t allowed because it attracts the “wrong people”. I’ve been in the depths of despair because weeks go by without me being able to interact with another adult human being in person And videos like this show me that people have stopped knowing how to even do that. When you escape to a different world, you’re not living in reality. You’re not accomplishing anything in the real world. This pandemic has programmed people not to talk because the masks have become duct tape. I worry for this generation.

Seeing this I just want to expand my interaction with the real world. I live with my partner and our 4 children in a summerhouse, by a lake on an island in the baltic sea. I grow our own vegetables in the summer, and we get meat from our neighbour who hunts in the woods here. Seeing this I just want to turn of my phone and go make a wood oven to bake my own bread in. I don't need mote virtiuall reality, I need less. No meta can make me feel the wind in my hair, no meta can make me feel the sun och my skin or the cold water in the lake that so perfectly makes me feel that Im just a part of nature. That's what makes me feel alive, no virtiuall fire or clothes.

Not that im disagreeing with you but books board games are still distractions from reality that equate to watching a movie or playing a video game. Kids and parents can play board games and video games together. Books aleast fiction is an escape from reality same as movies. So getting rid of tech doesnt seem to change much here.

Games, like board games, dice games, card games, etc have also been around for thousands of years. Yet very, very few people are effected by books and board games the way people are effected by digital content. I would almost say no one was effected the same way, but since I don't know everyone in the last 5000 years or so, I figured I better not make that much of a absolute statement. 🤣
And although book people are often those crazy introvert types (meaning myself 😜), most of us readily will talk to anyone and everyone who's willing to listen and converse about books. Likewise, board games are usually, though certainly not always, social. In real life social, too.
I've met people online, played MMRP games (WoW), and use so-called social media (obviously as we're on a social media site). Yet we humans crave and need actual connection. But we'll readily fall into anything that gives us the dopamine hits we love so much.
Yes, we have 1 TV. It limits what my husband and I watch, but you know what? I realized we'll survive just fine. We have 1 computer that rarely gets used. We have phones (at least my husband and I do) and my daughter has a tablet that we limit time on. Still, we can do better.

I’m 22 yrs old and this idea is scary . I have friends way older than I and they brag and boast about this new tech... goes to show how we as a society has been dwindled down to nothing. No emotions, no bonding. I am saddened to think this is just the start
The millennial generation seems to be problematic. I’m genX, I feel pretty bad for that generation, they were the first generation born into this new tech era, during a time when their parents had no clue what consequences there would be. And a lot of mistakes were made during their upbringing. I was born in the analog era and came to age during the rise of the Internet. Thankfully I was a fully mature adult before social media and smart phone tech arrived. And I’m a very cautious parent when it comes to this tech. No social media for my kids, ever.
I think millennials have mostly been lost to it but this can change with the younger generation. People are already building homes out in the woods, traveling the country with “van life”, etc. I think there is a growing movement of people rejecting the social media/techno dystopia and embracing nature/leisure/travel.
