    Incase anyone is interested, the new Milwaukee rotary tool has the bit change tool built into the head.

    Agreed! TH-cam to stay TH-cam. That mod I did soon as I got the tool and it’s a game changer.

    I put one of these on my Dremel a few years ago. Along with a flexible extension, it is a must-have upgrade.

    Agreed! YT! Stay in your lane! If I want to make a 2 minute video, then let it be so. No need for a separate category to compete with TT. They are becoming a jack of all trades and an expert in none.
    Thank you. You've said what I've been thinking for a while.

    Ooh what's the mod? . . . Oh I have a Dremel with that attachment.
    😄
    The difference is that that collet is made for drilling, you may find you get more vibration when side cutting and sanding with that.

    My M12 chuck kept coming lose and the bits would fly out with use. Then I found the older version that Chuck. I have never turned back.

    Stumbled onto this hack a couple years ago, too, when I got the M12 and wanted to see what would fit it from my Dremel. You're right, it's a nice little surprise. Almost feels like you're cheating or getting away with something.

    Will this depth guide work for the M12 rotary tool ?

    Great tip brother! .... Also, Shorts Suck, videos rock!!! Thanks for sharing this video! 😎👍🏻🔨🔥🔪

    I did not have such luck... the threads on my mini-chuck (from craftsman) do not fit my generic model (the craftsman coupler broke and new couplers cost as much as a whole unit)
    Shorts are really bad. They do not show a date when created, they do not show if I have watched it already or not, They do not stop when they are done and go into auto repeat or worse go to some other short with content I absolutely do not want to support ever. I want to control what I watch and shorts, on whatever platform take that control away from me. Shorts are a big FAIL. Shorts because of the above failing, distort the already very bad logarithm by raising the "popularity" of channels I hate because stupid YT played through to them on my computer. So I never watch shorts.

    I use the Dremel ez twist nose cap EZ495. It's a built in wrench that allows you to tighten the collet really well. It replaces the plastic piece below the collet and never leaves the tool so you cant lose it.

      Still a pain if you have to use a tool to change bits

  • @rockstarfan886
    @rockstarfan886 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Shorts are trash I never watch them if creators never made them then TH-cam would have no choice but to fold. But I guess people like giving in to the man I come here to learn not watch a useless 30 sec clip

    I did this exact same mod. Love it and hate it. 1 - it sticks out longer and is much wider than original chuck. This can get in the way sometimes it depends on what you are working. But the versatility of it is fantastic especially for quick change but also for bits with different shanks like the 3mm shank dremel accessories that are widely available through amazon, aliexpress etc this prevents you from needing a different chuck insert than the standard 1/8.

    I'd worry about runout, especially on small tipped burrs and small diameter bits.

    Disclaimer the instructions you failed to mention or read just as I did too, don’t find yourself fingerless or eyeless once that sucker goes flying off! Speaking from experience! Dremel does not say that keyless chuck was meant to be used after a certain rpm if im not mistaken. Take this with a grain of salt, I’ve been using the keyless chuck at work over a decade but the first one I bought myself at home I experienced a near disaster and since then I’ve removed the chuck since I mainly use cut off wheels and not trying to test my luck

    I have the same thing and like it, but sometimes the bits slip more in this one the in the collets.

  • @jamesnichols7507

    I find quality control at Dremel is lacking on the keyless chuck. It’s hit or miss on runout. Some run like a Swiss watch and some vibrate like an out of balance washing machine. I’ve had a verity of Dremel Mototools for the last thirty-five years and of all my tools the Dremel Mototool has saved my bacon more times I can count.

    Just ordered it through your link, hope it helps. Milwaukee collets are CRAP. And I speak to authority. I’ve got 60+ M-12 and M-18 tools and dozens of batteries. Neighbors think I’m “sponsored”, nope! All that investment in their tools, and they won’t even send me a free sticker.😢

    I hate these shorts too... And you can't even remove them from the page

    • @Simplelittlelife
      @Simplelittlelife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. I have the option (a little X to the right of the shorts section) to not have them recommended for a 30 day period. I click that every 30 days and don't have them recommended to me. I hope you can figure a way to get them to go away. Cheers 👍

    I tried the keyless chuck… and lost an expensive Kutzall wood carving bit. I no longer trust it for holding a bit securely.

    • @Simplelittlelife
      @Simplelittlelife  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Then I would strongly suggest you do not trust them. My experience has been opposite of yours.

      He's right though in theory a collet is more secure than a chuck. Just something someone should know before they decide to change over

    Can I change the head of so I can use it as a screwdriver?

    • @Simplelittlelife

      No not this one. It is also too fast to use as a screwdriver and doesn’t have reverse. But that would be cool if it could be used as a screwdriver 👍

  • @realangrythrottle
    @realangrythrottle ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Ya it's great but they sometimes with vibration it locks up so tight you can not get it loose. Also the grinding dust gets inside and lock them up so clean it every so often.

    • @Simplelittlelife
      @Simplelittlelife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. I wondering if that will start happening to me as this one gets older and more worn. I've heard a few folks say that happens but so far mine has been working properly. Time will tell. Cheers 👍

    I did the same thing on my old Black & Decker rotary tool years ago- very fortunate that the threads are identical on so many of these tools. Even the flex-shaft for the Dremels fits on the Black & Decker; nice.
